Mars, Earth, and the Sun will all align tonight, a rare 'opposition of the planets' that only happens once every 778 days.
But what makes this so remarkable is that it comes precisely a week before everyone on earth will see the first of FOUR dark red 'blood moons', an extraordinary event some Christians believe represents the End of Days and the second coming of Christ.
The King James Bible predicts: "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes," [Joel 2:31].
And, according to NASA, a highly unusual 'Tetrad' - four successive total 'blood-red' lunar eclipses each followed by six full moons - will, indeed, start a week today and finish on September 28 next year.
The incredible alignment has only happened a handful of times in the last two thousand years but, remarkably, on each of the last three occasions it has coincided with a globally significant religious event.

Have you studied what historic Protestants believed and why? I’m not saying they were necessarily correct, but anytime Wyclife, Calvin, Luther, Knox, Owen, Whitefield, Edwards, Wesley, Newton, Spurgeon, and Lloyd-Jones all agree, I think I should at least consider their viewpoint.
I only brought any of this up because most in our day are biblically illiterate and ignorant of church history. They have no idea just how certain and united Protestants were on this subject up until the rise of dispensationalism.

I have had a similar uneasy feeling for six years, but that comes from living in Soviet Red England.
That doctrine is taught to make American Christians feel 'special', and to keep women in the pews.

They certainly don’t come early or unexpected.
I think that the sun going dark is a much more significant and operative happening and, technically, the moon would then become invisible.
If it happens once every 778 days, it has occurred nearly 944 times in the last 2014 years.
Why would this particular alignment herald the end of days any more than the previous 943 occurrences?
I think it is that plus the 4 blood moons that follow.
Satan aka Anti Christ must come BEFORE our Lord does, and Satan is not here yet.
From what I understand, the Anti-Christ is not satan, but his representative. Many scholars believe that the rapture will happen before the true Anti-Christ is revealed.

In the 21 centuries since the birth of Christ there will be 62 Blood Moon Tetrads ( Four consecutive full lunar eclipses, each separated by 6 full moons )
However there will only be 8 Blood Moon Tetrads that fall on the Jewish Holydays of the Feast of Passover and the Feast of the Tabernacle.
The Seventh fell on 1967-1968. The joining of Jerusalem with Israel
The Sixth fell on 1948-1949. The rebirth of Israel
The Fifth fell on 1493-1494. The expulsion of the Jews from Spain
The Eight will fall on April 15 2014 (Passover)
The Next Blood Moon Tetrad falling on the Feast of Passover and the Feast of the Tabernacle will happen in 500 years
