Nursing home hired strippers for patients: suit

The elderly residents of a Long Island nursing home saw their shuffleboards replaced by washboard abs when they were subjected to a low-rent Chippendale’s striptease in the facility’s rec room, a new lawsuit claims.

The son of one resident, 85-year-old Bernice Youngblood, was shocked when he showed up for a visit and found a picture of his mom stuffing dollar bills — which are supposed to be locked away in her commissary account — into a dancer’s briefs.

“Plaintiff Bernice Youngblood was placed in apprehension of imminent, offensive, physical harm, as she was confused and bewildered as to why a muscular, almost nude man, was approaching her and placing his body and limbs, over [her],” the suit states.

The “vile” incident was done “all for the perverse pleasure and enjoyment of the Defendant’s staff,” the suit claims.

Youngblood’s attorneys argue she “lacks the mental and physical capacity” to protect herself.

Not very nice of that nursing home to chain the seniors to their chairs and force them to watch this show.

Oh, wait - they didn’t.

I’m getting kinda old lately . . .

Maybe Medicare will pay for “home care” . . . ?

Me too. But I don’t think my kids would file suit if they had strippers...I need to make sure.

Granma seemed to know what to do with those bills....

But I do not think this ends well for the facility...

Maybe Obamacare will pay for strippers in lieu of medication or surgery? Nothing would surprise me.

In fairness, the men should file suit to have female strippers too. The discrimination is probably distressing them.

The article statement it was "at the East Neck Nursing Center in West Babylon"

Hmmmmmmmm, appropriate location name for sure!

Lawsuit? Heck, I’m thinking there’s gonna be an avalanche of lawsuits from OTHER nursing homes that DON’T have striptease shows! I mean really, which would you prefer, striptease shows or, say, Peruvian Flute Bands?

Hmmm.. While I can’t say this is really a bad thing (entertainment!), it’s ridiculous that the families were not notified, especially as the patients are elderly and not all capable of making proper decisions. Also, the fact the money that she was using was supposed to be locked away, is an incredible lack of responsibility on the part of the facility. Just that part there should give any lawyer an easy lawsuit.

I think it would depend on whose money it is. If I were 85 years old and living in a nursing home and it was my money paying for it, as long as I was competent enough to know what I was doing, I would hope that I would have the liberty to decide.

I haven’t seen any lawsuits when Democrats got to nursing homes on election day and come out with votes for their candidates. I guess they figure at least the “voters” are still alive, which isn’t always the case.

This is true. But if those funds were supposed to be locked in her commissary account, then that tells me she likely doesn't have the mental capacity to make proper financial decisions, and those dollar bills were supposed to be used for food or such. NOT tucked into a stripper's thong.
