Brandon Spikes has emerged from the cone of silence that normally surrounds the New England Patriots. It appears he has some things to say. The linebacker recently signed a free-agent contract with the Buffalo Bills and, on Wednesday, decided to light a match underneath the Bills-Patriots rivalry.

As Bills fan, let’s hope he is holding some serious anger when they play the Pats in September.
I'm sure his comments will fuel anger coming at him then.
They paid him like 4.5 mil or so over the course of his contract, that’s a lot of money for a “slave”.
As a Pats fan, here's hoping his "issues" will show up in Buffalo.
As a football fan, here’s hoping they are some good games in spite of his presence on the field.
Amen, Impy.
The guy (who’s really a glorified special teams player) was paid quite well for his skill set.
He’s lucky to get anything since he’s already been suspended for PEDs.
Whatevs.
I thought he was a pretty good player, but injury-prone to the point where it diminished his performance to less than hoped-for levels.
Another Gator doing us proud in NE.
An old supervisor of mine, played college ball and on to the NFL. Well, for a few games, anyway. As a lineman, he tore up his knee. They basically treated him and released him. As was apparently the case in those days, as he put it, you were just meat on the hook. Hurt? Get him out of there and get somebody else.
But it is funny to see former players like Spikes and Talib shining a little light on Belichick. Not that he’s too much different than other coaches in this regard, but he’s also no better and definitely not the god pats fans think he is. He doesn’t give a rat’s behind about a player’s health, that’s not his job. But if he can find a way to use it to game the system, hell, why not?
Suspended for PEDs.
Last time on IR was minor injury, but major behavior problems.
Spikes mistake is thinking that any team in the NFL won’t treat him in the same manner.
As someone once said...”If Jeffrey Dahmer could run a 4.1 second 40 yr dash...NFL teams would have wanted to draft him out of prison”
Thanks for the details. Sounds like a Belicheck personality decision, at least in part. Also, a fairly high earner for his level of reliability and performance. Didn’t know the details of behavioral issues, myself, but “4 years a slave” sounds, uh, behavioral.
I never wanted him on the team. I’m relieved and glad that he’s gone.
He doesn’t have to work for 4.5 million. He can go on the job market, if he has any skills that an employer would want, for 12 to15 an hour.
He’s BUF’s problem now.
