I bought a decorative box, made of a pioneer-era Bristlecone fence post.
I counted the rings (about 150), and googled up tree ring stuff, thinking I could fit my rings into the ‘master’ scheme.
There was a log of judgement calls on the individual tree ring classifications, in my opinion. So much so that I quit the quest.
It would vary by local weather. It’s not like every tree that lived on earth at the same time would agree ring for ring.
