My choice also. Some very subtle and moving scenes in this one.

Hey, TS, long time no see.

Happy Easter to another Class of ‘98-er.

No.. you are a man of distinguished taste. It’s all how you describe it! :)

I LOVE that Movie!

There are several good older ones;hard to pick just one or two. I think Ten Commandments & King of Kings were probably my two favorites also.

Jesus of Nazareth

Agreed, although I hadn't realized it was 1977 until you posted the date.

Time well spent for Christians but 382 minutes may be more than an Atheist or a Jew would devote to understand what Christians believe.

Noah doesn't belong in a list of biblical movies.

“The Ten Commandments”, hands down. We have it on Blu-Ray and will probably watch it tonight.

Being a ‘50s movie, you have to allow for occasional cheesy/over the top acting, but it’s a grand spectacle in gorgeous color, and there is true reverence for the subject matter. Yul Brynner was perfect in his role, and how can you not love Edward G. Robinson’s New Yawk accent there in the middle of the Sinai desert?

“The Passion of the Christ” upset me terribly. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch it again.

Strange no one has mentioned the Max Von Sydow Jesus in “The Greatest Story Ever Told”. It impressed me so much, I often envision von Sydow’s portrayal when I read those red letter sections of the Gospels.

You're very kind. I'm still here lurking around, but as I get older I have less compunction to correct those who are wrong on the internet.

;-)

Regards,

TS
