Of course I have. You don't think Chinese medicines are without risks, do you? The fact that they haven't subjected them to rigorous studies, so they can't tell you the risks, doesn't make them any safer.

Science, ultimately is statistics. You certainly can know if those medicines really help YOU. Scientific statistics is just necessary to know if they are likely to help a given population to a given percentage under certain conditions.
And you can make an educated guess whether something will help you or hurt you, based on all of the information available about the subject. From the point of view of the patient, it's the same as making an educated decision about trusting an MD.
It's a big world, and we're all responsible for our own decisions. I just think it would be better if it stayed that way. Because when indemnified bureaucrats are responsible for decisions, no one is responsble for decisions.
The herbal medicines have certainly been subjected to rigorous scientific studies, just not in the US. They’ve also been used for in excess of 5000 years. The doctors and other specialists know a great deal about how they work and who they work best for.
Ignorance and a fixation with deer penis are not traits to be celebrated.
“They’ve been working for 5000 years and western medicine is finally opening its eyes.”
Well kinda. The pharmaceutical companies, like the unions,
have priced themselves out of the market and there are no
patents on most things that are 100% natural. They tried
to get vitamins regulated as class A drugs but that didn’t
work. Keep your eye on the “as the director deems” in
Obamacare.
They’ll probably try but as long as we can have a garden we can grow our own. Not everything but certainly better than the blue pill.
Oh, yeah! Traditional Chinese medicine is too cool. ;-)
