CAN HARRY REID BE SUED?

Posted on 04/24/2014 3:47:13 AM PDT by 7thson

A couple weeks ago, I was listening to Mark Levin and he stated that as long as Harry Reid can spout off about the Kock brothers from the floor of the Senate, he is safe. Basically, he can say anyting, besmirch anyone, and it is counted as business of the Senate. Levin than staten that if Harry Reid left the Senate building and spouted his crap in downtown Washington, DC, he can be sued.

My question - since Reid called the Bundy supporters domestic terrorists not in the Senate but in a media forum in Nevada, can he be sued?

Any republican at any time can stand up and blast him. That none of them does speaks volumes.

At least Reid didn’t accuse the Bundy’s of committing “workplace violence”!

Glad Mark reads my messages. I mused about this a few days ago. Yes he can be sued IMO and he should be sued for libel. Put his ass on the stand and make up give up his sources for what he said, sans that, sue the POS for all he is worth.

sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me......

Attacking Dingy Harry from the well would accomplish little or nothing

Perhaps the Koch brother’s have some sticks and stones

“Any republican at any time can stand up and blast him. That none of them does speaks volumes.’

They play their roles well. Just like George W. Bush during the time he was President. Silence while Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Schumer, Wasserman-Schultz and the rest of the gang constantly spouted lies.

It may be the lack of response by Republicans to outrageous attacks is interpreted by the low information voter as proof the accusations were true.

Don’t know for sure, but when a PA marine sued John Murtha for slander regarding the Haditha incident, an appeals court blocked the case, claiming Murtha was covered under the Westfall Act:

Under English Common Law there is the concept of “absolute privilege” where statements made in the legislature or in court are immune from libel action.

Technically, yes. Realistically, no. We are no longer a nation of laws. We do not have representatives. We have rulers. Now eat your peas.

Is the recent bloody Cattle Massacre at Nevada Cattle Rancher Bundy’s Pioneer Corral damaging the Democrat Party in eyes and words of the Democrat Left Stream Media?

To put this latest Medieval “Kill for Sport” event in historical context, all one has to do is remember that the Democrat Party was the Founding Party of the KKK.

Is the modern day equivalent of the KKK the Bureau of Feudal Land Management, (BFLM) ?

If so, then Feudal Lord Reid would then be “The Grand Dragon of the BFLM.”

Feudal Lord Reid’s Rustlers are hired guns, who are furious but not fast, which also applies to their bitter, vengeful, senile, multimillionaire Leader: Feudal Lord Reid.

With the past Democrat-based KKK, and now the present Democrat-controlled BFLM, ethics be damned, as abject fear is the main goal of both of these ethically Medieval Outlaw Gangs, past and present.

“Ethics” will be justified later by Liberals who will write the “revised” PC History of these times, past and present; of powerful men with outlaw hatred toward free people in America, Black or White, poor or rich.

The Jackboot Heel of Democat Tyranny is now upon us, AGAIN !

MOVE ON!
FORWARD!

Occupy Wall Street people were volunteer shock troops for The Democrat Federal Government of Obama, Pelosi, Holder and Schumer.

Reid’s Rustlers were hired shock troops for the Democrat Federal Government of Reid, Obama and Holder.

Occupy Wall Street people attacked businesses in large cities.

Reid’s Rustlers attacked cattle in an isolated Nevada Corral.

Both Occupy Wall Street and Reid’s Rustlers destroyed private property and private jobs.

Both Occupy Wall Street and Reid’s Rustlers were financially supported, (indirectly and directly, respectively), by the Democrat Obama Administration.

Both Occupy Wall Street and Reid’s Rustlers were publicly encouraged by the Democrat Obama Administration, and the Democrat Left Stream Media.

MOVE ON!
FORWARD!

But he did not make the statement calling the Bundy supporters domestic terrorists. He made the statement in Nevada during a media forum. He was not conducting Senate or government business when he besmirched hundreds of American citizens.

Are you reading this to mean that any Senator or Rep can make any statement, hoever outrageous, at any forum, and that Senator or Rep is immune from lawful action?

Hi.....you can sue anybody for anything but you've got to prove damages. Hurt and pissed-off feelings are not quantifiable. The Koch brothers could sue....if Reid spouted off about them outside of his protected arena and provided they could prove that Dirty Harry's venomous rantings have caused them a loss in their business.

Although I'm not a lawyer I'll wager that the courts would rule that “floor of the Senate” and “Senate business” extends to anything he says, anywhere, while he's acting in his official capacity as a Senator. So if at this conference he was billed as *Senator* Dirty Harry as opposed to “some dirt bag from Searchlight,Nevada” I'll bet he's immune.

what does it matter about his GPS location when denegrating anyone? He is OUR employee, we ARE NOT his employee. As such, if and when he goes off like he did against Bundy and his supporters, sue his a$$. So what is he holds the title of US senator. He’s no different than the rest of us.

Representatives do not elect themselves or are permanently appointed by another Branch.

“We the people” are at fault and only “We the people” can fix the faults.

As to the thread subject, the "Well of Senate/HOR" is neutral ground for good reason. The answer to combat this was made up-stream on how you defend what Reid was spouting.

A Repub needed to blast Reid's point more bombastically than he by using all types of hyperbolic verbiage in pointing out his and the rest of the dems hypocrisy on the matter. However, "We the people (Of limited government bent)" sell ourselves short by reelecting "moderates" because they have the "right" letter by their name (R) and are the only candidate that can "win".
