I’ve seen Jim check in from time to time there.
There are indeed some posts there from shoe salesmen
and kook blogs. I don’t expect it to be up to FR standards.

There are two admins there:

What specifically do you think needs attention there?

Me either, but the FB site is fairly visible. If it's full of blog crap and selfies from the paranoid, folks will figure that is was FR is.

Without scanning the entire set of posts, the beforeitisnews & misguidedchildren "news" and the lady who posts her own face a few times a day come to mind.

Facebook pages need control, which is easy. I have a couple for promoting my bands and musical endeavors.

First thing you do is unfollow all friends except those in the “inner circle”. Unfollowed people are still friends, but their posts don’t show up on your news feed. They won’t know the difference, and they still see whatever you post and can comment.

You will get notices when they post things. Click on the planet icon near the top-right of the page to see activity. If you like what people post, you can move them from unfollow to follow. Then their posts will appear.

I have about 1800 friends on one of my band pages. If I didn’t unfollow most of them my page would be full of crud all the time and I’d miss the good stuff I want to see.

Selective following allows you to communicate with many, while only dealing with a few.

A public type facebook page is for your benefit, but others will try to use it for their benefit. I don’t allow that. Anyone that posts liberal crap on my pages is unfollowed immediately. After you do this for a while, you have a nice page with things you want to see, and have others see.

Oh, and there are a couple of ways to unfollow.

When someone posts something you don’t like, you go to the top right of their post and hover the cursor just under the thin line that deparates posts. A little arrow will appear, click on it. You will be given options. You can delete the post, or unfollow the poster, which deletes the post and stops any others from them from showing on your page.

You can also go to the persons page and look for the button that says, “following”. Click on that and you will get the “unfollow” option.

You don’t want to deal with following hundreds or thousands of people, even if some of them post good stuff. The purpose of the page is to push people to FR, not to allow spam from idiots. At least, that’s my take.

That's the price you pay for Facebook. People can pay to put stuff on your news feed.
