I’m curious what make the Free Republic on Facebook group Official? I see a note from Jim on the page, but I’m not sure that anyone is monitoring the site.

It seems to me, that there’s a good amount of kooky crap on Facebook that would never be allowed on FR proper.

I’ve seen Jim check in from time to time there.
There are indeed some posts there from shoe salesmen
and kook blogs. I don’t expect it to be up to FR standards.

Me either, but the FB site is fairly visible. If it's full of blog crap and selfies from the paranoid, folks will figure that is was FR is.

Jim’s busy with FR and Mr. Pon is off on tour with the Tea Party Express, last I heard.
