The 1-year-old boy was in the care of his 7-year-old sister when he was left out of his crib. The baby was in a lane of the road when a driver rescued him.
Police say a baby found crawling across a busy four-lane street in northern Utah after his 7-year-old sister took him out of his crib is safely back home.
The driver who rescued the 1-year-old boy about 5:45 p.m. Friday returned him to his mother and called police in Brigham City, 60 miles north of Salt Lake City.
Uh...why was this baby “in the care of” his 7 year old sister? Where was the mother?
Sounds like some charges against the mother are in order.
Ya mean nobody video’d this?
How could the baby open the door to get out?
Mom was “napping”. IMHO, she was either gone from the house or passed out. The care of the baby was left to the 7 year old. Close call to the little one.. thank goodness he wasn’t hit by a car.
Mother was, perhaps, at a "meeting"--A.A. or drug rehab.
Just a guess.
uh...this is Utah, high ratio of kids to parents...I actually had to scoop up a kid in diapers crossing a local Utah street and return him to his house. The parents seemed unfazed by the incident.
Baby’s Day Out. LOL
Mothers dont nap?

You can’t always protect little ones. At least not 24/7. Let’s just be thankful the little tyke is OK.
He’s lucky there were no truckers on that road. They drive over live things for sport.
And I mean that with absolute respect.
I have fallen asleep on the living room floor with my children playing nearby, waking up only for cries and crashes.
Right after we moved, my husband thought the littlest one was napping with me, and I thought my husband was watching him. We found him on the roof of the car in the sun, sleeping like a cat.
No drugs or alcohol.

Correct. But you shouldn’t be leaving a toddler in the care of another child. 7 years old isn’t old enough to watch a one year old.
He was a wiggler!
Oh my... a sunbather! Yes.. parents get exhausted. I always took a nap with my little ones. I locked the bedroom door so they couldn’t escape. What bothered me about this article was the 7 year old. My older ones wouldn’t have dreamed of taking a baby out of the crib or removing him from me.. to play outside. No way, no how. But you are right... without that little cat snooze for me during the day.. I wouldn’t have had the energy at times to finish the rest of the late afternoon/evening activities.
Easy: Smart mothers do; dumb mothers don't.
There is ALWAYS a way to deal with this. Crawling babies and toddlers have been around a VERY, LONG, LONG, LONG time.
Remember play pens? Relatives? Babysitters? Bars across doorways?
Very cute.
