Me too. I just moved out last July. I miss some of the places, but sure don’t miss California.
It was a headquarters move. Kali was likely taxing their entire US income. There is nothing a local mayor could do about that.
I recall when Ford opened an assembly plant in Pico Rivera in the 1950's, and I once owned a 1973 Ford LTD that was made there.

Ah, yes, good ole Pico Rivera, where I grew up. I remember the Santa Fe trains with the car chassis stacked high on flat cars leading into the plant. T-Birds built there , too.

Toyota does not manufacture cars/trucks in Torrance. These are white collar jobs moving to Texas soon to be replaced by illegals whom the rest of us in Cali support now.
My late B-I-L worked for GM building Camaro’s (I think) at the Van Nuys Plant.
That was back when CA was the land of Business Opportunity instead of Political Opportunist’s.
Tell the mayor in an effort to make up for his lost tax base, tax all the illegal aliens running around that area....
That should bring in enough to prop their bloated government salaries and benefits up for at least 20 minutes.

That was the NUMMI plant. Joint Toyota/GM venture. Built Toyota and GM cards that shared common engine/chassis/motor.
It may have been an older GM plant that was converted. When I lived in the Bay Area, it built Geo Prizm/Toyota Corolla and Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix.
They built Tacomas in the NUMMI plant as well...from the mid 90’s until 2009, when they opened their new truck plant in Texas.
Just like they lost Nissan.

Sounds like the Cali Cap & Tax law is really going to bite as it kicks in strongly over the next few years.
