I gravitate towards the high ABV% in IPAs. I had one with 14% ABV. I was halfway through my second glass before I realized I was drunk. It was called Molotov. I bought a huge 64 oz Jug of it. 16 oz is the equivalent of well over 3 shots of say gin or vodka.

I remember drinking Delirium Tremens. I think it's a Belgian ale. It has a picture of a pink elephant on the label.

Dunno how much alcohol it has, but it was powerful stuff.

2 snifters of it and I was woozy.

This past winter brought plenty of opportunities for trying new beers and I found one I'm going to enjoy year-round.

FWIW, the list above shows a Dogfish beer at 15% and a Tactical Nuclear beer at 32%. No mention of flaver tho...

The Trappist monks are known to brew some high ABV beers. The challenge is in nuturing a yeast strain that can survive in the alcohol. 10-11% is the max you can expect to ferment at home. Anything higher than 12-13% ABV is fortified with some type of distilled alcohol.

I am not much of a beer drinker but....what is with the trend of citrusy beers? Was at a firefighter dinner the other night and they had beer from a local brewery. Was so full of citrus I could taste it long after I drank it.
