A controversy has been kicked up in Quebec after it was revealed that the provinces cash-strapped public health care system approved funding for IVF treatments for a woman who contracted with two gay men to bear a child for them.
While Quebec already paid the costs of IVF for infertile women, single women, and lesbians, in this case, the funds will be disbursed on behalf of the gay men themselves. Homosexual males had argued that not funding IVF surrogacy for male couples was discriminatory.
The case has also confused legal observers, who note that for ethical reasons, Quebec explicitly forbids surrogacy arrangements in which money changes hands, and does not recognize surrogacy contracts at all.
This means that essentially, the province is now funding a practice it considers illegal.

Well beyond the politics. I’m more amazed that IVF is preferred over the ‘traditional means’, gay or not. I suppose there has to be something that lies between being Hetero and wacking one’s given genitalia off and assuming the role of an other.

As I have said before: “When there are no absolutes to govern society, society becomes the absolute.” I do not know who coined this one: “you ain't seen nothing yet.” I think it was in a song by Bachman Turner Overdrive, but that is not the first time it was said—admittedly I do not know. What I do know is this is only the beginning of the downward spiral we are in. It will get worse. They are coming for us Christians; it is only a matter of time and unless we draw a line and enforce it, we will cease to be a nation, with our freedoms gone. No one will recognize us, and no one will come to our aid.

As an ex-canuckistani, each province operate in their own way...as long as the provincial healthcare system makes every citizen pay ala obamacare.

This makes perfect sense. If there is a “right to have a child,” then there must be some person or agency with a duty to provide the child, including paying the costs.

The gays are only doin' crap which was invented, test-driven and mainstreamed by heteros. "Straight" people divorce, remarry, commit adultery, fornicate, masturbate, engage in sodomy, contracept, sterilize, reproductively maim themselves, have abortions, concoct babies by donor (vendor) insemination, IVF, surrogacy (reproductive concubines) --- anything that works --- what a sad and disappointing, disintegrating sexual culture we live in.
And what a tremendous task God has entrusted us with, for the sake of all humanity: to restore the sanctity, and even the sanity, of sex!
What we have now, even for "straights", is not wholesome, not healthy, not normal, not natural, certainly not holy. It's not even user-friendly.
