Ok.
A 93-year old woman, who just had her possible last vantage of her own independence, taken away by a bureaucrat (DMV). She has obviously been doing fine up to this point in life. Now, a family member is demanding her to surrender the last symbol of her independence, her car keys. She is so upset, that again, somebody else, is deciding her life for her, that she gets very well annoyed, and defensive of her soon-to-be-gone freedom, and grabs her gun, to make her point. The family member, obviously not a member of “the gun culture”, as the elitist press might write it, wimped out and called the cops. But with all the news that this woman might know, which I do not, she just might have seen the cops, as a further expression of no freedom. Ergo, again, I do not know, she might have gone ‘the blue suicide’ route.
The poor woman was 93, and black. How many things has she seen, living in Texas, prior to 1968, that she might have ‘hid in her heart’? Why else would she have a gun in the house, if not for protection?
A few years ago, after I had major surgery at the V.A., I was placed in the ‘old folks building’, to continue my recuperation. After eight weeks of that, and I tell you today, I ain’ta goin’ there! No freedom, no space, no personal anything - I trust no orderly, neither.
Thank you (he looks a bit like my future son-in-law actually); I expect Sharpton & Co. to descend forthwith.
Two years on the force...And over 4 months of that time he was on paid administrative leave awaiting a decision on his first shoot.
Of Course.
