Does a "legitimate redistribution" of wealth include the Vatican archives, Vatican library...?

I wonder if a "limited redistribution" of wealth includes selling the Vatican archives, the Vatican library, Vatican papers, vatican treasures, etc, etc to various museums and other institutions around the world, and then "redistributing" the wealth that would be procured from this?

Some may say that words have been misinterpreted. If so, then clarify without any possible misunderstanding. But... if there is no misinterpretation, then why not include these in the redistribution of wealth?

It isn’t that the Vatican has wealth, or the magnitude of their wealth. It’s that we should collectively decide how to distribute that wealth. I nominate the UN to decide this. I propose a 100% tax on Vatican wealth and let the representatives decide on how it should be equitably be distributed.

Step one would be for the Vatican bank to open its books to UN representatives.

I really did not have any opinion of this Pope after he was named. I did wonder why some posters on that other site were so thrilled with him. Guess we are learning.

If you wanted me to read your full reply to me, or for me to even take you seriously, you should have left the word “cult” out. You have no idea how uninformed and unchristian it is of you to call me, in essence, a cult member.

In a world gone crazy, do you really want to push Conservative Catholics away by calling us cultists?

You complain about the Catholic church in the Philippines, what have you and your “cult” done to help?

You have no idea how uninformed and unchristian it is of you to call me, in essence, a cult member.

Actually, your post to me is much better described as uninformed and unChristian. The definition of a cult aptly describes the RC organization. It is an organization that sets itself up as the only true arbiter of truth.

The RCC relies on obedience to traditions of men, and only gives a nod toward the validity of Scripture as our guidepost. The RCC teaches that graven images are not only acceptable, but are to be held up as the goal of its adherents. The RCC organization says it is the sole arbiter of the truth, while perverting the truth and putting undue requirements on its members.

Jesus came to Earth to liberate from such an organization. He gave His life so that through simple faith in His sacrifice, we can have eternal life. He NEVER said that we should be part of some organization, being lead by clowns in fancy garments. Instead, He told His followers to sell everything and that He is the way, the truth, and the life.

No man comes to the Roman Catholic Church for salvation. You can only get that from Jesus Christ, and He has made us (His followers) joint heirs and grafted us directly into His family.

I am sorry if that does not line up with your catechism.

I take Scripture as my guide. I trust the Holy Spirit to guide my steps and to direct my life. If I need to pray, I can go directly to the throne of God... and find perfect peace and solace. Jesus is the only intercessor, not some statue of a dead person, nor do I find anything in Scripture which qualifies Mary as a co-redeemer, yet your organization teaches just that.

Jesus is the ONE! He is the Only one! There is no other name under heaven with which we might be saved.

I would post the Scripture references for you, but you probably wouldn't read them!

I really don’t need you ATTEMPTING to explain something you obviously know nothing about to some one that has spent much of their life as a Catholic. I’m sure you also believe I pray to the Pope and worship Mary, right?

If the Pope came by you, you would gladly kiss his ring hand, right?

You say redundant "Hail Mary's", don't you? You can try and justify the RC Cult, but it is based on man-made constructs, not on Scripture. It is at odds with so much Scripture, that it has become like rat poison.

Matthew 6: ...7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Rat Poison = 90% food, 10% of stuff that kills you DEAD!

Just because it has so well established itself, does not add to its credibility. Satan has been around far longer than the RC cult, and has succeeded in perverting the truth so that men and women will worship the creation, rather than the Creator. Nowhere in Scripture do you find the foundations for your cult, without changing the Truth of what is written.

Paul wrote to the church at Rome. It was full of itself just like the Roman Catholics of today.

Romans 8: 1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

I say “Hail Mary” out of respect for the woman that became Jesus Christ's earthly mother. I may kiss the Pope's ring out of a show of respect. I don't think either one of them is Jesus Christ or are to be worshiped. Mary is a woman of great importance in the history of Christianity and The Pope is elected by Cardinals as the one chosen to lead the organization of the church, all have dedicated their lives to the service of the Lord.

Of the few people that have ever called me a Cultist, they all have had one thing in common: ignorance and judgment unbecoming of a Christian.

... ignorance and judgment unbecoming of a Christian.

Ignorance is defined as "not having knowledge of the subject.

I have plenty of knowledge, having been formally educated, and have formed my conclusions based on studying the RC group and it's heresies.

As for 'judgment unbecoming of a Christian' ...

1 Timothy 4: 1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. ...

Well it's a good thing I've come across Mr know-it-all only I can interpret scripture. Very convincing— not. Now go do whatever you do and try not to let your over inflated ego get in the way.

Well it's a good thing I've come across Mr know-it-all only I can interpret scripture.

I prefer to allow the Holy Spirit to guide me in my search for the Truth. I don't interpret Scripture, but I do post it.

I keep busy. I have a thriving pizzeria and coffee shop, and am working to start a retirement/assisted living home for Americans tired of living in Amerika. Though I am 66, I have a 30 year old Filipina wife and we enjoy ourselves immensely.

The restoration of our nation will take too many years for me and many others who just want to live a peaceful life.

I also have been helping rebuild from Typhoon Yolanda, as my skills also include construction. I was a licensed building contractor for years, in North Carolina and have also built in WV and MD. My background in construction started with concrete, and that stuff lends itself to resistance to such great storms and also the techniques we use are earthquake resistant, having been thoroughly tested up to 7.8.

I have an ego, but it is far from inflated. I am quite aware of my skills and education, and God allows me to use that knowledge to teach and help others. I am just laying up treasures where they belong. I gave away my riches long ago.

Have a nice day...

I will!

We call it a mission field, Friend! I am a servant of the Living God!

Roman Catholicism is a cultural religion, that requires it's adherents to give obeisance to Rome. It gives a nod to Christ, but gives His mother equal standing as a co-redemtress. It teaches that there are special people to revere and pray to for help (they are called Saints, but Scripture teaches that ALL Christians are saints and that God is not a respecter of persons). It uses imagery and pomp to replace humility and love.

I have studied your group extensively, Friend. It is a usurper and pretender which places faith/trust/MEMBERSHIP in the group as a requirement for salvation. Like Paul, I know in Whom I believe and am persuaded that He is able to keep me until the end!!! (2 Tim 2)

You can stop calling me “friend” and “cult member” in the same thread.

I thought missions were meant to help people and show “your group” (as you call my Catholicism) in a good light? Because you’re not even doing that on the Internet. Of course I don’t recall you ever identifying with any denomination, so which is it?

I don't recall seeing any denomination listed in Scripture. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, lead by the Holy spirit. I called you FRiend, as being a fellow FReeper. But, my spell checker changed the capital R.

I am posting on a thread about the riches of the Vatican, and have no reason to be politically/religiously correct. The Roman Catholic hoards a vat wealth while it tells others to pay for the poor.

My work here in the Philippines is representative of my faith. It is much more than words on a website... it puts feet on the ground and demonstrates the Love of Christ! I do not work alone! I have plenty of friends here, many of them members of the RC religion, but they see my/our actions and have been able to lead many to the TRUTH. YMMV!

Gotcha? hahahahahahahahaaaaa

I do not give obeisance to any man or group of men. I do consider myself to be a member in good standing in a Protestant church, and represent Jesus Christ as much as I can do so. I actively try to seek converts from Catholicism and other cults. There are lots of Mormons here and the Jehovah's Witnesses are pounding on doors as well, working their way to eternity (sort of like the Roman Catholics who feel they cannot succeed without membership in their organization).

But, Scripture tells us otherwise. Paul wrote lots of letters and missives to different groups and individuals. In all of them he makes clear how we can have a personal relationship with God, through faith in Jesus Christ. Peter, otoh, tried to pervert that message and make believers fall back under the legal system of the Jews.

God doesn't call us to membership in ANY group. We are all responsible to Him personally, and He sends His Holy Spirit to live in His believers and to guide our steps. If I need to ask for anything, I need approach His Throne boldly. But, I also have assurance that He will supply ALL my needs. He never guaranteed He would give us riches or wealth. He blesses some with those things, often as a test of their commitment to Him.

in that test, the Roman Catholic organization is the biggest hoarder> No matter how much they spend on social services, they have riches beyond any needs, and it only demonstrates their image of excess. And, that brings us back to the topic of the thread!

Collosians 2: 6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. 19 They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

20 Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: 21 “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? 22 These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. 23 Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

It wasn't "I gotcha!" it was an ok, I gotcha, you don't want to tell me because you're probably the cult member. You say you are “Protestant”, well many different Protestant denominations believe in different things and interpret scripture differently. Why so afraid to say which one?

Write your books about how I'm damned to hell all you want. You just make me a stronger Catholic in your lunacy. Great show of Christian love. If this is how you “actively try to convert Catholics” you're only going to peal away those that were never really Catholic to begin with. Me, you've succeeded in nothing with your angry, finger pointing argument. Glad to see you're keeping it humble.
