Don't know - a Google search turned up a Wikipedia entry:

Bacchiochi is a fiscal conservative and has offered a viable “No Tax Increase Budget” each year since 2007. Regarding other conservative stances, Bacchiochi is a member of the National Rifle Association, and voted against the state contracting reform legislation put forth by Democrats. She continues to support a no-tax-increase state budget plans and has cosponsored legislation to make English the official language of Connecticut.

Probably nobody really know, and many will have divergent ideas depending on their "key issue" hot spots. IOW, figure it out for yourself - on the FR forum she will walk on water, be a leftists plant, and anything in between.

I’ve talked with Penny. She has my vote. She has very definite ideas about how to make the most of an otherwise functionary position, Lt. Governor. She will have a positive impact on the economic future of this state. She runs her own real estate management company. She understands the plight of business in this state. The other things said in the post are correct. She essentially grew up as a “country girl” in CT.

That said, there is another woman running for Lt. Gov., Heather Somers(?) who would also do an excellent job. Former Mayor of New London, also a businesswomman.

Then, if it could not get stranger, we have David Walker, former U.S. Comptroller under Bush II also running for Lt. Gov. It makes you wonder if somebody knows something.

Anyway, there is a good range of outstanding CT candidates. Haven’t seen a line up like this in a long long time.

I met Penny in Jan and got a handwritten note from her within a few days ... but declined to go to her fundraiser in my town.

She seems sincere in her 2nd amendment support and is a strong campaigner.

On the other hand, I am not going to the convention, so I don’t get a vote. We’ll see whom she is running against in the primary ... see who qualifies. More to follow.

Penny has/had an 83% rating from FRC chapter Family Institute of Connecticut. And then when she declared for LT GOV, he made a point to state that she no longer was opposing same-sex marriage.

David Walker seems more my kind of candidate. I don’t know what he says about all the social issues that aren’t really issues in CT LT GOV races. Social conservatives should insist that conservatives be put on the CT Supreme Court and I think Foley and McKinney are untrustworthy regarding judges.

Bacchiochi voted against same-sex civil unions in 2005, a vote she likely wouldn’t cast today. “I really think I’ve evolved on that issue,” she said.

A biracial marriage has played a role. Two years ago, Bacchiochi, who was divorced with two sons from previous relationships, married Emil Igwenagu, a Nigerian immigrant she met at a junior college reunion in Worcester, Mass.

“So much goes back to your own experiences, and they help you to grow,” she said. “I know when Emil and I got married and we talked about it, it wasn’t that long ago in our history that a black and a white person couldn’t marry, and how foreign that sounded to me. Then that makes you think.”

Then it appears she is a deluded fool. Interracial marriages went on for eons, it was only “prohibited” in areas by Whites wanting to preserve the “purity” of the White race, not by some religious or biological edict. Gay “marriage” is a false construct that is biologically, morally, and ethically repugnant and alien by every imaginable standard (and repudiated by every religious sect). To equate them is offensive.

Redstate likes Penny
candidates need 15% at the convention to qualify for the primary. Perhaps all 3 will be in the primary.

she lives in CT. Her neighbors are even kookier with their silly ideas.

No group opposes gay marriage in this state.

More reminders of why I want to do my politics in other states ... working remotely.
