For LGBT teenagers, burgeoning sexual identity and alcohol mix in powerful and unhealthy ways, a U.S. study suggests.
Presenting the study at the Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting in Vancouver, early in May, researchers say they’ve found binge drinking among gay and lesbian youth may be caused by chronic stress associated with societal stigmas.
The U.S. study, by the a team at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles in conjunction with the University of Southern California’s School of Social Work, looked at the responses of more than 1,000 gay- and lesbian-identified youth in an online survey.
The survey of gay and lesbian youth between the ages of 12 to 18 was aimed at uncovering factors that make them more likely to engage in binge drinking than their heterosexual peers.
Lead author Dr. Sheree M. Schrager, the Director of Hospital Medicine Research at the Children’s Hospital, worked with USC assistant professor Jeremy Goldbach to figure out the way the results fit the theory of “minority stress.”

This is resulting in increased “test” anxiety and deeper depression when LGBT community members realize that their efforts to get on the “No Call” list are just as fruitless as those of the heterosexual cohort.

I think binge drinking and hooking up is pretty common among all the young people nowadays. If the LGBT teenagers feel stressed out, perhaps they should quit prancing around proudly proclaiming what they are, and live their lives more privately.
There was an article a year or so about how prolific the binge drinking was in Great Britain and they showed pictures of nicely dressed kids lying around drunk in the streets!
While standing in line to buy tickets I overheard the saddest conversation I have ever heard. A woman about 30 was talking on her cell phone, loudly, like she was at home.
Telling a friend how sorry she was that she “chose” the lesbian lifestyle. She was short, extremely fat and rather plain so maybe she had originally thought that was all there was out there for her.
Another woman might have lost weight or found a fat man rather than the route she took. Anyway I felt very sorry for her and she wasn’t even aware that I overheard.
The employer at the place I work is kind of like Michael Scott from The Office. Once he had too much to drink at a company event and then started a conversation with the Office Dyke and said “why are you a lesbian? You know, I bet if you lost some weight and put on some make up a lot of guys would be attracted to you!”
Or because of what was done to them?
Think about this how many kids are actually gay from birth? Probably a few, we all knew at least one cissified young fella or somewhat butch tomboy as kids, although in fairness they frequently outgrew it and went on to lead normal heterosexual lives.
But then we get to adulthood and suddenly it seems that gays are everywhere and people we never expected are closet gays.
What the f... happened?
What happened is the fact that dare not speak its name; somewhere along the line at puberty these kids met some older predatory man who at a time of great confusion in their lives persuaded them that they might like to try gay sex.
It stands to reason, if gays were born gay then by the laws of evolution they would have died out thousands of years ago as their gene would not have been reproduced. So I’ll bet there is a lot more “nurture” than “nature” going on.
I read an amazing statistic once that on average heterosexuals admitted to having their first sexual experience at 15.5 years of age, for gays it was 12.5 years! So what, all these gay kids are finding each other at the age of 12 and suddenly indulging in sexual experience while 12 year old heteros are wandering around collecting baseball cards? Or is the first sexual experience with a much older person?
The “gay” adults then spend their lives in self-destructive life cycles trying to blot out the sexual abuse they experienced as children, desperately trying to convince themselves that they were gay all along.
And meanwhile the gay community demands more and more access to children and we’re the bigots for thinking something’s not right with this picture.
It’s pretty amazing the percentage of the gay celebrities that have come out, admit to being molested as kids.....No doubt molestation causes something in the brain to go haywire that results in them growing up and becoming sexually abnormal.

12 year-old gays. They should just get married.

Or those with the least self control or lowest maturity are most likely to identify as LBGTA? The same kid who wants to dink everything also drinks everything available.

She left crying. Next day boss apologized excessively. Funny thing is later on she actually did lose lots of weight and started wearing make up and then she actually started dating a guy. The boss was always going around whispering to his friends “see! I knew she was a lesbian just because she couldn’t get a date!”
100% prolly still get the evil eye, but such is life
