What this all says...is that when the Army recruited Manning...he was a bit of a nut. For the whole enlistment, he was a nut. And throughout the court episode and waiting for the whole thing to end....he was a nut. Now? He’ll serve out his time in a federal prison...as a nut. For Manning, I would have considered this. At least in a military prison...you would have survived with no violent assaults or terrible problems. In a federal prison? You will be target number one for the entire time. Violent assault will be a potential problem every single day. You’d have to be crazy to volunteer and desire this type of situation. I don’t expect him to survive the sentence...if transferred out of the military prison. But maybe that’s the whole gimmick here....give him the justice he desires.

Transgender people are not allowed to serve in the U.S. military and the Defense Department does not provide such treatment, but Manning can't be discharged from the service while serving her 35-year prison sentence.

Easy solution. Transgender is not real. It's a mental condition, and I don't think medical treatment has been too effective. So, leave him 'in service', let him spend his 35 years in prison, then once he's released/discharged he can chop his wiener off if he wants.
