A futile request since in my experience most of the people in New York, or the east coast environs have no idea that there is anything west of the Hudson River.

Visiting is OK. Although I am concerned that if I take a shot at a coyote that is chasing a calf they will call the swat team. Although I am not entirely sure we have a swat team.

” Trash collected, water at the turn of a knob, cell phone service, television.”

I love all of that stuff. There ARE urban conservatives.

That reminds me of a time when I had the cops called on me.

I had met with a guy to sell a few guns. (we were actually trading, my 6 mediocre for his 2 good ones) Guns are not registered in NC. It was a fair and perfectly legal deal with an individual I knew and trusted.

We met in a parking lot and had all the guns sprawled out on the hood of our trucks.

Well several cops pulled up, guns drawn.

I didn’t want to get shot so I complied and hit the ground. When all was said and done, they found more concealed weapons on me and more concealed weapons in our vehicles.
All were legal. One was classIII for which I had my federal tax stamp.

The cops cleared us, told us to have a nice day.

I am guessing some soccer mom drove by and saw the mean looking guns and kneejerked called the cops, too ignernt to realize that everything we were doing was perfectly legal.

Probably, That is why we don't want urban or suburban yuppies out here. The people across the road have horses. Down the road are cattle. We hear gun shots a lot. No one pays much attention. We hunt. Just have to be super careful that you don't harm any ones cattle or horses.

We had a young Manhattan transplant in our marketing department in San Francisco. She was not comfortable even in SF. She said that her worst nightmare would be to be tied up and forced to listen to Country & Western music. I doubt that most Liberal New Yorkers would be comfortable in flyover country. Sorry FUBO, no sale!

No doubt! I just believe cities are going to be the first to come under the jack booted heel of DHS. When the services start not working, it will be uncomfortable. Think Trash Collector Strike in NYC, the citizens were not pleased! Katrina was a bit more extreme, but the thin veneer disappeared fairly quickly.

It would be worth it to me to see all of California and New York's electoral votes go for the Republican candidate even though the Democrat won heavily in each of those states.

And it will be worth it even more to see those states lose all but one of their electors in the subsequent election because they severely diluted the voting strength of their own voters in choosing their electors (Amendment XIV, Sec 2).

Maybe Obama should force them to move by Executive Order.

But if he does, I hope he moves the entire City of NY so upstate NYers will get a decent governor, as well as other politicians, in the next election(s).

Rob Astorino is a good man, and has a decent chance of winning against Cuomo, IF NYers support him.

Astorino has been called a long shot before when he ran for Westchester County Executive, but yet won by a landslide in a heavily Dem county.

“...from the crowd of about 50 people.”

Reuters covers a ‘crowd’ of FIFTY? This from, ‘The Won’ that once commanded the audience of kings and Oprahs?

ROFLMAO!

I remember the NYC trash strike some years ago.

Some wit on TV said he just gift-wrapped his garbage and left it in an unlocked car.

Poof,garbage gone.
