Vancouver transgender school policy that would discourage sex-segregated activities goes too far

The Vancouver School Board is delaying the introduction of a transgender policy that would discourage sex-segregated activities and establish gender-neutral washrooms in all schools.

The decision came after a five-hour public meeting Wednesday night in which opponents of the policy expressed fears it goes too far.

“This policy is seriously flawed and contradicts current medical and psychiatric advice and practice,” said Cheryl Chang, chairwoman of the Parent Advisory Council for Lord Byng Secondary School.

While she has “great empathy” for transgender students, she said the issues have not been discussed widely enough.

One clause in the policy says that schools will “reduce or eliminate the practice of segregating students by sex.”

A spokesperson for the Vancouver School Board said this does not mean mixed sports teams but, for example, eliminating boy and girl lineups.

“Gender neutral” bathrooms in the US are an invitation to disaster.Lawsuits...criminal charges, you name it.Canadian laws might not allow that....Canadian citizens might not be so litigious.

I wonder how many transgender students they have? Personally, I’ve never even met one.

Seems like a pretty big fuss for .000000008% (just a guess) of the population. I visit new people all the time and I’ve never in my life even met a transgendered person.

Seems they don’t want us focusing on things like the economy, terrorists, etc.

So we have one part of Canada segregating students because Muslims desire it, and another wanting to completely eliminate the distinction.

Pop a big bucket of popcorn people, it’s going to get fun.

At risk of being crude and vulgar, can’t we say, what do you have “down there”, and use that as a basis to decide which restroom and locker room to go into????

Why do we have to deal with this crap in schools???

Whatever else is going on with “LGBT” issues, I think we should all agree, that talk of being gay or getting sex change operations, should be only among consenting adults. These are children in school, and we should have policies in place which deal with only male and female, not try to establish policies for the 56 different genders in the Facebook world.

The rules should be “If you got one, use this room. If you don’t have one, use that room.”

We have to deal with all sorts of crap because some people in the realm of LGBT issues have loads of lobbying and lawsuit power, as well as allied sympathizers.

I certainly agree that some things get flat out absurd. I personally don’t feel that little elementary school children have to deal with sex-change operation issues. I sure am glad that I didn’t.

Why the hell should a kid be an issue. What kind of parent recommends their middle-school age child get a genital mutilation surgery plus a steroid regimen to be like the opposite gender. That’s just sick.

You’ll be running into a lot more of them, once they get the unfettered access to ladies bathrooms and locker rooms they demand.

There are some very weird sorry ass parents. An example would be barack Hussein obama’s mother. She would leave her son with a transsexual nanny while they were in Indonesia.

Obviously this is manipulation. The question was raised as to whether or not “artificially” segregating students by gender is wise. But the same can and most definitely should be asked about this gender neutrality NONSENSE these morons are proposing. It should be very clear to anyone with a tenth of a brain that the consequences of this feel good BS will eclipse by far any social uneasiness with regards to gender I.D. a student may feel in the classroom. For the most part Boys will hang out with boys and girls with girls if left up to them, and maybe that’s where the agenda truly is, to question identity, reason, logic, even nature..
So open-minded that their brains will fall out

Do these idiots realize how much the kids are toying with them. REALLY? transgendered school students? Is there clamouring in the halls by students and parents for the elimination of genitalia differentiation? I don’t think so. There is one or two pervert teachers being egged on by a couple crafty students who love the power.

It boggles my mind. Why is this even an issue? Could there possibly be that many children who are “transgendered”??? If so, what has happened in the gene pool over the last 20 years? When I was a kid there was only 1 child in the junior high who was a girl but looked and acted like a boy and she happened to be a friend. Everyone else who wasn’t in the special education class was just regular boys and girls. I mean, something as basic as gender (there are only 2) seems to be made to be soooo confusing these days. Yes there are some people who’s physical body betrays their phsychological makeup but they are supposed to be pretty rare.

There should be a straightforward limit on LBGTA. You can’t make that decision for certain until you are 18, like getting married, getting a tattoo or making other life altering decisions.
Then, when you are 18, you can decide which gender you want to be and have the surgery. But it is male or female, based on the plumbing you have at the time.
Confusing the genders and creating gray areas violates the privacy of everyone else.

You can never change your sex, period. It is not possible. You can pretend all you like, you have no right to make others join in your imaginary games.

The frightening thing is the growth of teens that are declaring themselves LGBTA, ten years before we assume they can earn enough to pay for their own health insurance. And there are children in elementary school whose parents are giving them hormones (Usually boys) to prevent puberty so that this self-identified girl with XY chromosomes won’t develop male traits. A child who cannot get a tan or ears pierced without parental permission is having physically and psychologically altering chemicals poured into the body, instead of counseling.
An 18 year old can make that decision, though they should get counseling instead. An 8 year old cannot, but adults are mutilating the child instead.

They have been brainwashed, desensitized and openly recruited for a while now. This growth was the whole intended goal.
