Work’s fine. We’re both staying busy. I’ve been hoping to write more columns each week, but my other work has been getting in the way, and sometimes I’m the one who gets in the way. :-/
We have a chicken and some Conecuh sausage to put on the grill. I’ll figure out something for the side. What about you? Anything cool or special going on? Any new recipes?
Our pals from around the corner and down the street are moving and had a garage sale, and we picked up one of those home gym things with weights, etc., for 20 bucks. I also want to get a rowing machine to work my rear off, but that will have to wait until some money comes in, because the one I’d like isn’t cheap. :-)
Conecuh sausage, I need to try that. Ship it in or something.
Grilled steaks this weekend. Been doing a lot of yard work and it’s beginning to pay off. Drank some Dark and Stormy’s which I’ve become fond of (they’re sweet so a few go a ways.)
In exercise I find the most important thing is cardio. Get your heart rate up and keep it up. I do 3 1hr sessions a week and feel great. Never did a rowing machine. Have done bikes and mostly use an elliptical now.
Conecuh is a good, smoked sausage, just-right spicy, local to Alabama and available in this area nearby. It’s great on the grill brushed with BBQ sauce near the end of charring it just a bit. I would be glad to ship you some if you ever wanted it. What’s Dark and Stormy’s? Sounds strong! :-) Do you marinate your steaks? Have you ever soaked your steaks overnight in pineapple juice? It’s wonderful and has a tenderizing effect, the longer you soak them.
I thought about an elliptical, too. Studying up on it, I found that pretty much the best all-around machine for cardio, fat-burning and strength building is a rowing machine. I’m hoping to get a Concept 2 Model D. Their Model E would be nice, because it’s a little higher off the floor, but the Model D would be fine. It’s the best-selling rowing machine in the world, very well-made, according to all I’ve read.
I’m confused. What relationship did the murderers have with the boy? They played pool with him?
I missed a lot of Dragnet, because I was in and out of the laundry room and couldn’t hear it, so I don’t know either.
Sometime you should try soaking your beef steaks in pineapple juice. It’s makes a very, very good flavor of the meat. I soak them overnight or longer. Pineapple has a natural tenderizer, bromelain, and it works nicely on the meat the longer you soak it.
The Dark and Stormy sounds like it is only for the strong! :-)
