Why, thank you, xs. Very kind of you. What I really need (well, among 400 other things) is a good book of colloquial speech and slang. I realise that that's a difficult thing, because almost all slang is local, and many native speakers can't even understand another Latin nation's native speakers, but nevertheless, I could sure use one.

All thoughts appreciated!

“Soy un oruga, pero quiero estar una mariposa.”

Maybe GAME OF THRONES discriminates against hippogriffs. Only dragons need apply.

Cuanto tiempo tienes en Panama? Before I went to Colombia for the research trip, in college, we had a 6 week class on the area we were to be living, modismos etc. (modismo=slang). In Colombia when you run into someone you know there’s a barrage of modismos- que hubo? Que mas? Como ha ido? Que has hecho? That was the way you greeted someone back then. I suppose it could be completely different now. My only advice would be to get out and put yourself in as many different situations as often as you can, and listen always. Make a friend who can explain things to you. Living there is the best way to learn. Necessity is a great help in learning language!
