And before they say no keyboard. They also put the keyboard on the scale and it was still lighter.

Won’t work for me, the screen is too small. lol I have an ipad but when I really want to work I still go to my desktop with the huge monitors that I can see. My desktop died this morning so am working on my laptop and hate it.

It has a docking station and it has displayport adapter so you can easily hook it up to your large monitor.

Microsoft sets out to conquer the tablet market and ends up making a netbook, lol. Par for the course. Ditch the goofy McDonald’s cash register GUI and they might get some traction.

It wasn’t with the original Surface so why would it be with a larger, more complex model that is essentially a netbook?

“but the price? will it even be close to the 200 dollar mark?”
In the article: “starting at $799.”
You don’t get an I7 with high resolution 12” screen for $200 ....

I am waiting for expandable screens. That will be the game changer.

Core i7 will push it far past $1,000...
I do like the very high screen resolution for a tablet.

I have a Surface 2 Pro for work, and I love it; however, I do agree that for “real” work, I have to have it docked at my desk to have 3 monitors. It’s impossible to do coding/spreadsheets/etc. on a 12” screen. Overall, it’s an excellent laptop replacement.

How long have you been working for MS?
I’ll take my 3+ yr old Macbook Pro over anything Microsoft any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I haven’t upgraded it because Apple doesn’t download hundreds of security updates and a few Service Packs just to bloat out the O/S to the point where it no longer functions on 4 year old hardware, like MS does regularly.

But I already have an ipad so why invest in another small computer?
