San Juan, Puerto Rico: has been memorialised at her wake sitting in her favourite rocking chair and wearing her old wedding gown.
At a San Juan funeral home, the body of Georgina Chervony Lloren was propped up in her red-cushioned rocking chair on Monday and wearing the gown from her second marriage 32 years ago.

I used to think I wanted an old-fashioned Irish wake with me in the middle driving the porcelain bus.
Couldn’t they have at least tied her knees together?
I understand that this was not uncommon here in the States around the time of the Civil War.
The family genealogists are still debating whether that photo of great great granddad dressed in his Sunday best and sitting next to his wife was taken after he died.

Very common in the 1800’s to take postmortem photos. Postmortem photos are very collectible now and can run into the hundreds of dollars.
