Obama Reminds the Greatest Generation How He's Changing the Military
CNS News ^ | 06/06/2014 | Susan Jones

At a ceremony commemorating some of the bravest Americans of World War II, President Barack Obama reminded the "greatest generation" how the U.S. military has changed under his command, by slipping in references to immigrants and women.

"Rock, I want you to know that Staff Sgt. Melvin Sabillo Martin, who is here today, is following in your footsteps. He just had to become an American first. Because Melvin was born in Honduras, moved to the United States, joined the Army. After tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, he was reassigned to the 82nd Airborne. And Sunday, he'll parachute into Normandy.

"Wilson, you should know that Specialist Janice Rodriguez, who joined the Army not even two years ago, was assigned to the 101st Airborne and just last month earned the title of the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault Soldier of the Year. And that's inspiring, but not surprising, when the women of today's military have taken on responsibilities, including combat, like never before."

The remark was greeted with silence.

In January 2013, Obama -- invoking "fairness and equality" -- announced that he was "moving to open" more military positions, including ground combat units, to women.

I post with GREAT CONFIDENCE.

Good for you. Come back and tell me how much confidence you have when everything you possess has been snatched due the a ‘asset forfeiture’ http://www.forbes.com/2011/06/08/property-civil-forfeiture.html
When some thugs from some fed police agency start talking about ‘indefinite civil confinement’ because of the ‘antisocial views’ you espouse. See how much confidence you have when drones prowl the skies night and day and when some sort of rotary aviation craft slowly moves along your street at about tree top height a 3AM with its xenon search lights turning night into what looks like daybreak at Hiroshima. When push comes to shove the forces of tyranny will have plenty of toys and their uniformed minions in the militarized police really do want to kill someone every day due to the steroid rage so many of them feel.

That is why I see a great revolt coming down the road. Not today or tomorrow, but it is coming, mark my works.

And I post with GREAT CONFIDENCE.

Next time you go to Wal Mart or church or Rotary look around. Do those you see look like they would take up arms for anything. The WW2 resistance movements were based on conspiratorial elites backed by powerful sponsors away from the battle ground in the UK or the Soviet Union. Only in rather primitive areas such as former Yugoslavia could the conspirators find the beginnings of an armed resistance and then it was very tough going to get traction. Would the US G behave like the NAZIs. Well, not exactly. But they would use overwhelming force at the first sight of armed resistance and then use the massive legal powers (so called) of the state to discourage any copycatting. On top of that the regnant culture and media and ‘public opinion’ would all be united in portraying any resistance movement as Nazi, KKK, homophobic, misogynistic ignorant haters. If you are thinking about doing this start organizing quietly now. Then if it works much of the US will look like lots of Syria does today. You have to understand the consequences before the action begins.

Your mind may be but the case isn't. I spent a good deal of time in a country that had a major insurgency underway. You have no idea what can happen. Further my family had direct experience in the civil unpleasantness of the 1860’s with being in the midst of an area where uniformed (sometimes) insurgents were fighting what was an occupying power that claimed to be the legitimate government. Some family members fates always remained unknown (and they were neither soldiers or guerrillas). The closest thing to hell on earth short of a communist regime is being in the midst of an insurgency and those who speak lightly of it are, well they are at best foolishly presumptuous.

Ignore what ever you want. Big words are easy to spout off or write, doing them is hard. Are you really ready to fire on the blue meanies. Do you really think you could try and put a round into the faceplate of one of those Darth Vader SWAT types with twenty or so of his/her friends being there with an armored vehicle? Are you willing to risk whoever is your hostage(s) to fortune? Even if you in the comfort of your den think so i doubt it. I've been there and I was part of an army and it was still tough, just what have you ever done that makes you think you are up for this sort of thing?

If I’m ever close enough, I swear I will spit on him.

I would wait until he's out of office. The post _resident SS won't make you kiss the ground as hard.

Thank You from him & me.. Remembering their valor ( my Dad 19 yr old Navy Medic on Omaha beach ) is one way we can express our appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy today.

My grandad served in the infantry in WW I. I’m a Nam vet so come from a family who has put it on the line when called upon.

Same appreciation from me to you regarding your Dad.
