NEW HANOVER, Pa. (CBS) Students at a Montgomery County grade school were served pet treats by a recess aide, school officials said.
The incident happened Thursday at the New Hanover Upper Frederick Elementary School in New Hanover Township.
According to a statement from Boyertown Area School District Superintendent Richard H. Faidley, a part-time recess aide at the school distributed pet treats to approximately 75 fourth grade students.
The statement says the treats may have been misrepresented as cookies or crackers. Faidley said the school was uncertain how many students actually ate the pet treats.

I am sick of the resentment of these depraved individuals. I hope this “aid” goes to jail.
one, what is wrong with your dog that he doesn’t like to be petted on the head
two, what is wrong with you that you would snot off to kids who want to love your dog
No information on whether or not the aid was being paid while on leave...
But, I'd take a good guess...
Just wait until the lawyers get involved...
Snausages!
As long as the treats weren’t made in China everything will be fine. Having eaten a few myself, both as a child and as an adult, I can say the main thing many lack to make them human treats is sugar.
Milk Bones were always good. Tasted like Rye Crisp. It just took a lot of saliva to dissolve them. Of course, neither my late Lab, two deceased Lab crosses, my present Pitador, nor my present Great Dane have any salivary deficiency. Indeed, it’s the opposite.
The label must have been written in cursive.
I tried Purina dog chow one time didn’t taste bad tasted like rye.
Our youngest child is 30 our dog is treated like a baby. I would never feed her anything that I wouldn't be willing to eat myself. I haven't heard of any recent Jerky Treat problems, but we don't feed our dog jerky treats from China because of the previous problems. We make our own dog food using recipes approved by our vet. We also give her vitamins and minerals formulated for dogs.
We were given the treats from Petco, to me they looked and tasted like stale sunshine cookies. They didn't make me sick, but I didn't think they had any nutritional value so I didn't let our dog have any of them.
They were animal crackers.
Dogs are animals, right?
