Note, there is a three disk set on Netflix of his show “Bottom”, called Full Bottom.

Other great British comedies:

Beyond the Fringe, and Derek and Clive, both with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. Brass Eye, Look Around You, The Day Today, Do Not Adjust Your Set, At Last The 1948 Show, The Fast Show, The Wrong Door, Not the 9o’clock News, League of Gentlemen, The Mary Whitehouse Experience, Paul Merton the Series, and Harry Enfield and Chums.

The Q series, by Spike Milligan, was what the Pythoners said inspired them. Also influenced by The Goodies, no doubt.

Little Britain, The Catherine Tate Show, That Mitchell & Webb Look, and The Mighty Boosh. But there are so many more.

I know he was involved in a terrible accident. I remember an interview he gave years later.

I wonder if that accident ultimately wound up resulting in his death.

“The limit Vivian... I live on the limit.”

I don’t know if I’ve gone a day since 1984 without thinking or saying that line.

Thanks for the grins. RIP & condolences to his family & mates.

Just last week I watched a BBC 25th anniversary special on youtube and Mayall was interviewed. He looked like a million bucks. I honestly missed him as Flash as it was such a departure from Rick, who was a complete bastard.

R.I.P.

LOL!

An excerpt from the BBC that I thought was priceless.
“Edmondson added: “There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing.

“They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him.

“And now he's died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard.”

Classic Vivian.
