I started voting in 1972 and do not recall politicians winning elections in positions of power until 2000 the likes of Jindal, Cruz, Pence, Walker, Cruz, Lee, Rand Paul, Palin, Kasich etc. as governors or senators. All of these believe in smaller government. Reagan had to deal with democrat congress which explains exploding spending during his 2 terms.
You can’t make a large ship turn on a dime. GOP is transforming slowly but surely, thanks to Tea Party. I am encouraged.
