Truckers already have strict rules, but of course they can’t force a person to get out of the casino, turn off the game system, or sleep when they are off duty. . Ergo they are meaningless.
They aren’t really meaningless. Though the trucker might not sleep, mostly that is exactly what they do. The rule prevents them from being required by company policy, or by competitors, to work dangerously long shifts.
Everyone is in the same boat.
The fact that one person defeated the rule, doesn’t make it a useless rule. Not even close.
Falling asleep behind the wheel kills more on the open highway than dwi ever has. Especially out west.
My point stands. Either they are professionals, or they are not. A better system would be to offer incentives for safe performance. No tickets for three years? Toss your log book unless you violate a rule. The desire to attain status and privileges creates professional attitudes.
The rules are already in place that require drivers to be off duty and rest.
And why should a celebrity be treated any different?
LOL! How long must they rest before they injure the rest of us?
It's funny because it's true...
Actually, it's not funny at all...
I drive the NJTP every day, and most of the truckers are fine and doing their job in a professional manner. But it only takes one trucker fooling with his phone or nodding off to ruin your whole day. And, of course, at least half of the car drivers are involved with their smart phones at any given time, so it is a difficult driving environment under the best of circumstances.
It shouldn't take a PWM (Person Who Matters) getting injured to get people serious about the problem.
That alone has given the liberal retard knee-jerk-offs, coupled with a injured "celebrity", with enough ammunition to probably lobby for the wholesale destruction of the entire trucking system...starting with "Wal-mart", of course.
And I'm sorry, but I'm still having a problem wrapping my mind around this "celebrity" thing.
Does being a failed SNL alum and Tina Fey ass-kisser really qualify one as a "celebrity"?
I mean, I'm sorry the guy is hurt, but who the hell was he?
The libturds seem to think that his injuries were multiplied simply because he was a "celebrity".
I'm guessing he was a little on the left, politically speaking?
Was this Bush's fault?
