Derek Fisher has agreed to become the head coach of the New York Knicks and is currently finalizing a five-year, $25 million contract, according to reports.
The development was first reported by Frank Isola of the New York Daily News and the terms of Fishers deal were later revaled by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

What’s ocahing?
That’s when you write your own title.
What everyone but Popovich seems to do in the NBA today.
As a Laker fan, Im happy for D Fish, will always remember what he did for the team, and 0.4 will always be a memorable shot..I wish him the best
RE: Whats ocahing?
What are you talking about?
Wish I could be an ocah.

Also, I think Derek was chosen by Phil Jackson because he knows how to ran his triangle offense.
The same one that won titles for both the Bulls and the Lakers.

This guy is like Obama and Hillary. Zero coaching resume, zero experience in coaching. Has he coached before?
RE: Has he coached before?
No. But he has won several NBA championships and was team captain and has led Phil Jackson’s triangle offense as his point guard. I think that’s what Jackson is looking for.
:)
So Derek whatshisname is going to be Phil Jacksons remote controlled robot with the Knicks. Phil Jackson’s stand in. Phil Jackson’s coat holder. Phil Jackson’s mini-me.
The Triangle was always the best defense..only Phil can teach it..wanted Phil to be the Lakers head coach instead of Antoni but that is a whole other story, can go on and on about that one..Thanks for the memories Fish!
Fish is a stand up guy..he will do well
Good luck without a good pg. The Knicks maybe could use some guy with a Harvard degree. I wonder if they’ve ever had one? (snicker)
That didn’t work out very well.
