A woman charged in November's deadly head-on collision on the Sawgrass Expressway was served two large fish bowl-sized margaritas earlier that evening and tweeted "2 Drunk 2 Care" just minutes before the crash, according to a report by authorities released this week.
The Florida Highway Patrol’s investigative report says that Kayla Mendoza, 20 at the time, was driving a white Hyundai the wrong way on the highway last November when she slammed into a red car being driven by Kaitlyn Ferrante and her best friend Marisa Catronio, who both died.
According to the report, before the crash, Mendoza had gone out to a bar after work with her colleagues from a T-Mobile store. Her boss, manager Marcelo Bruzzo, told the FHP that Kayla told the restaurant she was underage, and while others were ordering, she asked him, “Do you think I will get served?”
The FHP report said Bruzzo told Mendoza that if she got kicked out for whatever reason, “it is not my responsibility.” Mendoza went on to get served the two large fish bowl-sized margaritas and paid for them with her credit card.
Bruzzo went on to tell investigators that he took Mendoza to her car and that she appeared to be “okay.” Police say in the next few minutes, she tweeted “2 Drunk 2 Care.” Shortly after she tweeted that message, she was driving with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit, according to police.
Mendoza, who called herself the "pot princess" on Twitter, ended up traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes and missed several vehicles before slamming into Catronio’s car.
Mendoza faces charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide for the accident.
It’s unfortunate these party people don’t consider what could happen when decide to drive when high or drunk.

Kind of like the woman who killed herself running off the road on the highway. Was listening to the song “Happy” and then texted “I’m sooo HAPPY !!!.”
The 911 calls started less than a minute after she texted ..
She (hopefully) cares now.
I swear, there are more mental cases out there and more people who are too self-absorbed than ever before.
I deal with these types every day for a living.
Last week, on my own free time, I was driving past a little lake where geese and their offspring cross the road. I saw a truck barreling down in the opposite direction that was about to run them over so I laid on my horn. The guy stopped, but then we had a verbal exchange, and he said, “Hey, I just had my eyes dilated!” I told him, “Then you shouldn’t be driving.”

What idiot sees her drink two giant margaritas and then just puts her in her car?
She might have. It takes 45 minutes to fully absorb the peak amount of alcohol into the blood--which is why it takes a little while for a drink to 'hit' someone. She could have been close to legally sober when she got in the car and completely sloshed in a few minutes (still absorbing the alcohol), depending on how fast she drank the drinks and when.
Still, there is an abundance of stupidity all around here.

It always seems extra cruel that the drunken fools who cause these accidents so often survive when their victims do not.
This is true. This made me think of my sister-in-law (estranged from family) had a child with a guy before she married my brother. He either died in a crash from drunk driving, or his friend was drunk driving, i forget which. Anyways the state pays out benefits to the daughter until she turns 18. Even though she has a new father and financially they’re doing fine.
Drunks bounce. when sober people see an accident coming, they tense up and sometimes that contributes to their injuries. Drunk peple don’t see it coming, Don’t tense up. In fact due to the alcohol are very loose and slow to react and consequently seem to come out of severe accidents with less injuries. Weird but true.

Damned racist white vehicles should be banned from the highway.
I remember in 8th grade science class (around 1972) the class put a turkey wishbone in a glass of alcohol for about a week. After the week we took it out and you could to the wishbone in a knot. It would bend without breaking. Just like drunks in car crashed I would imagine.
