From the article: "She was just the sweetest dog and would never hurt anyone," Gossard told WBAL. "She was just scared that day, and through all of those events being scared and lost, thirsty, hungry yes, I'm very sure that she bit someone...." /END QUOTE FROM ARTICLE
So which is it, owner says she would never bite anyone yet in the same breath said "Yes,.... she bit someone".
I understand the urge to paint police as thugs, but at least be honest enough to put in the parts you quote the money line of the animal bit someone.

the cop slit the dog’s throat as it was restrained and was condemned by his own department. There’s no defense here.

All dogs are capable of biting, if they are scared or under stress. The question becomes was that bite a nip or a mauling?

From the neighbor who was nipped/bit....
"Fleischer says the dog bit her out of fear, but blamed herself for touching Nala"
From another source...
"The dog was more scared of not knowing where it was and being thirsty and disoriented. The dog bit me out of fear because I tried to touch it, which was my fault," Fleischer told...

A diversion from the real gist of this article. Whether the dog bit someone is immaterial in my view. Details indicate the officer cut a dog’s throat with his knife while it was securely restrained.
There is no defense or justification for what he did.

"I understand the urge to paint police as thugs..."And I understand the urge of some to continue the now fully discredited "officer friendly" image, especially in the face of the verified OBozo, DHS inspired push for a "civilian force as well funded as the military", just be honest enough to admit this.
