Is this Obama’s ‘malaise’ moment?

Malaise is back.
President Barack Obamas situation is getting perilously close to President Jimmy Carters in 1979.
Americans see little evidence of an economic recovery, more and more workers are giving up hope of ever finding a job, the burden of student loan debt now larger than credit-card debt is crushing the hopes of young people, the presidents signature achievement, healthcare reform, is broadly unpopular, our borders are overrun by migrant children, Iraq is falling apart, Syria and Ukraine are in turmoil and the president seems hapless and ineffectual. Malaise was the term used in 1979 to describe the deep pessimism Americans felt about the way things were going in the country.

0bama’s presidency is too inert to be described as malaise.

That’s fine as long as it doesn’t affect his golf game.

Malaise was the term used in 1979 to describe the deep pessimism Americans felt about the way things were going in the country. And the country, on the whole, was in far better condition.

Stagflation too, although government statistics are being jiggered to cover it up.

It’s laughable.
It’s like, ‘Well you knew I was not competent or even eligible to be President... NOW you want to blame ME?’
How pathetic when you have to hide behind your stupidity and admit your OWN ignorance as a defense for your blunders!

I disagree with the assessment that if Obama were eligible to run a third time he would lose. The sheeple would dutifully re-elect him.

LOL Well, if he did say that he would certainly have a point!
Kind of like...
"Who would want to live in a country that would elect me president!?!"

Carter was a impotent flake.
But he wasn't a criminal.

Obie kind of makes you nostalgic for the competency of Carter and the integrity of Clinton.

Right. Carter had no ill will toward his country.
To: Citizen Zed
This in Reuters? Well it’s a start I guess.
... but there’s still plenty of Obama-ass-kissing from CNN, The New York Times, Washington Post, etc. to more than offset.
When they start criticising, THAT will be news
To: Citizen Zed
Malaise would be an improvement.

Ain't no "malaise" about it.

Obama is threatening to make Carter look good in comparison. Even Carter had realized bad economic policy like price controls on petroleum was a bad idea and got laws signed in 1980 that began the phaseout process on petroleum price controls. And once price controls ended, within five years OPEC was under serious threat because the price nosedived from $34/barrel to $12/barrel!

That moment began in January of 2009. Period. Full stop. End of story.
