The Democrats running the Senate did away with the filibuster, so that Obama’s nominees to the federal bench have a clear path to confirmation.

But then you have to contend with the likes of Lindsey Graham, who said he would support Obama's judicial nominees because elections have consequences and the president deserves to get the people he chooses.

Something you would never hear come out of the mouth of a Democrat.

And we a GOP Senate majority to do what? Keep caving to Obama and Reid? We already have that.

No, time to send a message to the Establishment and Rove: Take out Thad. Cochran MUST go, even if the Dem wins, for the long-term good of the party.

Every R in the Senate does not need to be a true conservative in order to have a conservative influence over judicial nominations. 51 R’s brings back the filibuster. 51 R’s allow home state senators to block district court nominations. If there are less than 10 Lindsay Graham votes on any given day, there may be no cloture vote to bring a nomination to the Senate Floor.

If the D’s have 50 in the Senate, plus the VP, Obama can make anyone he chooses into a federal judge with a lifetime appointment.

Would it not be wise to first re-count, verify the ballots? I understand some in MS contemplating doing just that.

If McDaniel doesn't push this to the Supreme Court, he isn't worth of being MS U.S. Senator. He has a better (very good) chance of challenging votes RIGHT NOW than he does of winning a write-in this November.

If Cochran were to repeat his strategy in November, he could easily overcome the write-in by McDaniel. All he has to do is tell the dem voters, “You know your candidate has no chance to win, so why not vote for the devil you know, and so keep out the Tea Party devil.”

Well, apparently MS has no re-count provisions. However, one can inspect ballot boxes, etc. Any unresolved issues can be brought before the court.

What is confusing, is the "voter intent." How one establishes that, and actually does something about it will be most interesting! Listening to McDaniel now.

Bravo for you. After years of refusing to answer GOP fundraising calls, I am ready to answer one now. The longer I can tie up the line with a caller, the less time they will have to use their dishonest pitch on a less informed potential donor.

You know, if I was bum enough to stoop to lying, misrepresenting and stealing, I could be a multi-millionaire, too.

Yep, that’s the best way to get a Democrat Senator in Mississippi.

It’s right up there with “Cut off your Nose to spite your Face”. Sounds like a winner.

So your post 59 shows you to be an angry conservative and your post 60 shows you seem happy to perpetuate the problem by ‘voting for the R’.

When you make up your mind, let us know, ok?

LOL You just automatically assume no RINOs would ever reach across the aisle and vote alongside their fellow Dems in the spirit of bipartisanship???

IMHO, we cannot just give up. Dumping Cochran is not the same as not voting at all in the presidential. We all knew exactly what we were getting with Zippy. Romney was at least a decent human being.

I agree, not MY choice, but hey... we have New Hampshire and Iowa to choose our candidates. There is indeed a fine line and the GOPe have crossed it many times.

Silence can mean agreement. I refused to be silent against zippy in 2012.

Did you actually read that article? It doesn’t make the point that you think it is making. Of course writing Mickey Mouse is a wasted vote. Duh! And it says “often” not “always”. “Often” does not even mean “half the time”, and is still not as much as “frequently”.

I guess “conservatives” really want to lose the seat to the Dems. Sorry, but this is shooting yourself in both feet - and in the head, while you’re at it.

LOL “Lose the seat to Dems”?! Cochran proved last night that he is virtually no different than a Dem!

I did read the article.

Unless the person who wins the primary DIES, no ‘write in’ candidate vote will be counted.

IOW, the Mur’cow’ski trick won’t work here.
