Soccer fans in the United States were ready to celebrate as Team USA's match against Portugal on Sunday entered stoppage time. After all, the team's final match of group play against Germany wouldn't mean as much if the United States held on to beat Cristiano Ronaldo and company.
However, a shocking goal by Paulo Bento's team in the final minute of added time changed everything.
The United States control their own destiny. A draw against Germany would send Team USA on to the knockout stage, and a victory would win Group G. A United States loss, on the other hand, would mean the result of Portugal-Ghana would determine who moves on.
United States fans are hoping that their squad can move past a disappointing draw and come out ready to play against Germany. If you weren't hyped up for Thursday's game already, the video above should do the trick.

I like my sports American and nothin says America like Venezuelans playing baseball.
Stop being such a globalist. ;)
Down here, baseball fields are being replaced by soccer fields. In about twenty years, Caribbean’s might easily make up the majority of MLBers.
Ann Coulter sure does love her 300+ pound bruisers.......
Hates soccer, but likes Mitt Romney. Go figure.
By the way, now that I’m here, I want to mention how much fun it is to watch the Tigers. Still a White Sox fan, though.
If I were in the stadium, I would hold up a big sign that said: “Hey Germany! The Federal Reserve stole all your gold! Nyah, Nyah, Nyah!”
Tigers are playing the Rangers now. Ian Kinsler settled the controversy over his exit from Texas in a hurry last night with a home run in his first at bat in his first return to Texas.
About the most ignorant thing I have ever read about soccer.

Stay off the soccer field!
Soccer is boring but baseball is fascinating?
Soccer doesn't take any athletic skill but a bunch of steroid-pumped apes shoving each other around for 10 seconds does?
Soccer is a bunch of guys running up and down a field, but basketball is sheer grace?
Ann, why don't you compare the viewership of the Super Bowl -- football's crowning event -- to viewership of the World Cup championship game? Or even a routine Premier match?
American sports are watched by (some) Americans. Soccer is watched by everybody BUT Americans. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Leave the 700 million or so other people on the planet to watch it all by themselves.
Football, si’; futbol, no.
On the other hand, when you look at a NFL broadcast, you spend 3-1/2 hours watching 15 minutes of action. But it's not "boring." Go figure.
I had a professor in college many moons ago who always made his lectures last 30 min, because he said that was the new attention span of the average young adult because of tv. Now I think it’s been whittled down to 22-25 minutes since then.
So I agree with the assessment that some may find soccer boring because there are no breaks in the play...but that’s what makes it such a great game. Get your refreshments before the game, and settle in and pay attention, or else wait for half time.
And please make no mistake, I’m a NFL fan. It’s just gotten to the point where my “refreshments” include reading material when I watch a NFL game. Seriously, how many Cialis commercials do I really need to see?
I believe.......
