Driver in Mercedes Crashes Into Castro Street Hardware Store

San Francisco police are trying to track down the driver of this Mercedes who crashed into a hardware store in the Castro early this morning.

Officer Gordon Shyy says the unknown driver plowed into Cliff's Variety at about 4 a.m., then fled the scene. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

Witnesses told KRON4 that the car was seen racing down Castro at a high rate of speed before the crash.

Paramedics originally thought several bystanders had suffered broken arms, until they realized it was just limp wrists.

Utility crewmen though a gas pipe had ruptured, until they realized it was just all the lisping going on.
