The food sampling operation across 20 fast food outlets in Lancashire also found ham on 10 out of 15 pizzas contained turkey DNA
A trading standards department has revealed EVERY takeaway they investigated in a recent inspection has been selling customers pizzas containing fake cheese.
Officers visited 20 outlets in Lancashire for the food sampling operation and performed tests on ingredients used in hundreds of pizzas sold to customers.
Each premises failed on descriptions of the ham, cheese, or both.
The report revealed 19 out of 20 samples were found to contain analogue cheese - an artificial cheesy substance that is much quicker and cheaper to produce than real cheese.
Inspectors found 10 out of the 15 pizzas that purported to contain ham actually contained turkey DNA.
Four samples that were advertised as containing pepperoni were found to contain species in addition to beef or pork.

I think the EU has asserted copyright over Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, but not Parmesan. The US FDA also has regulations of what can be called Parmesan.
What about soy based “cheese food products” found in the grocery store?
Dang. I can hardly eat 19 pizzas to get to the good one.
I make my own. Use my bread machine. Easy peazy.
Everyone tells us we should get one. I’ve had some really good bread friends made in their machines.
I love mine. I bought it at Goodwill for $5 many years ago since I wasn’t sure I would use one that much and didn’t want to spend the money on one. I have used the heck out of it. Bread, pizza dough, cinnamon rolls dough........
I even stopped buying store bread about 10 years ago. Three hours on a lazy day
and I can have a weeks worth of bread and rolls including pasta, yes, real pasta.

OH DEAR LORD.... some mad scientist has crossbred porkeys! (or turpigs?)
Heathen! Heathen!!!
Pepperoni...It was DECADES between having sampled my first real, cured pepperoni stick when I kid to when I actually found something that came close...I just wish I had more than one choice.
It’s not very good...lots of air pockets.
I will say...though I exclusively began making my own pizzas years ago (partly due to price, partly due to lousy quality ingredients and my aging digestion), I was at the store hungry (big mistake) and found myself browsing the frozen pizza aisle for the first time in perhaps 10 years.
I never cared much for Digiorno’s (too bread-like and the sauce just doesn’t do it for me). I’ve become more a thin, crispy crust guy. The other brands: Eh.
Something new caught my eye because it was SO CHEAP. At $3.88, I decided to try it.
Guy Fieri frozen pizzas: Real ingredients and right up there with the other higher-rated brands as far as I’m concerned. That ‘California Thin Crust’ crap is over-priced and worse than his, imho.

LMAO! That is the funniest thing all day. Thanks,
