I have been using Firefox for some time with little problem. But today when I used it it had slowed to a crawl -- unusably slow, really. A page takes 3-4 minutes to load. I have changed nothing on my PC. My internet speed checks fine (I use Verizon). Can anyone give a suggestion to clear this up? Thanks.
Step 3.3 : Reset Mozilla Firefox
Open Firefox and then go the Helpmenu (Press “F10” key once to active Menu bar)
Go to Help menu then click on “Troubleshooting information”
Note: you can also open this page in this ways, open Firefox then type this command in the address bar “about:support” (without quote) and then hit enter or OK.
You will get a page “Troubleshooting information” page, here you will get “Reset Firefox” option in the right side of the page.
Click on Reset Firefox option. and follow their instruction to reset.
Now your Mozilla Firefox has been Restored to default settings.

I like Pale Moon, which is a non-Mozilla fork of Firefox that uses DuckDuckGo instead of evil Google.
I have also heard good things about a browser called SRWare Iron.

It is basically a fork of Chrome without the privacy issues.
Do you run the add on ‘NoScript’, AdBlock and there are some others that as add on’s cause problems with some peoples machines and not others. Personally , I have been having this problem lately, “NoScript” was my problem.
Disable all your addons, if this fixes your molasses problem. Then turn on each add on one at a time and figure out your culprit.
In addition viruses, malware can also cause this.
I watch some online TV and NoScript was messing with it.

If your problems are Flash related, you might have better luck with one of the Chromium-based browsers.
I have Pale Moon and Chromium, I definitely prefer PM out of the two but I use both.

That just sounds wrong.
I dropped Firefox. I went back to Windows Explorer. It’s more compatible with Adobe and other things that are so much a part of the webpages now. I’ve no regrets.
My Mother had the same problem with Firefox in Windows. It turned out that she had various bogus Add-Ons installed that were causing the problem.
Click on the “Options” button (upper-right corner, looks like horizontal lines), and select Add-ons.
Then, click on the “Extensions” tab and look for any items you don’t recognize or want. Click the “Disable” button for everything you’re not sure about.
Then, do the same for the “Plugins” tab.
Then, quit Firefox and restart it. If that fixes the problem, then go back and remove the items you disabled.
Also, if that was the problem, you need to learn to not let web sites install crap on your computer. ;-)
