Three of the first five U.S. presidents died on July 4. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died in 1826, the 50th anniversary of the country’s birth. Adams’ last words were Thomas Jefferson still survives. James Monroe, the fifth president, died five years later in 1831.

For all the nights I spent at the Hilltop Hilton club cavorting uhhh ... Meeting others stuck on the Rock and boogeying on the dance floor .. Oh boy, we had it good compared to some who passed thru there a couple decades earlier.

My Mom, God rest her soul; first birthday without her. When we were little kids, my parents used to joke that the 4th of July fireworks display was in celebration of HER birthday - and, of course, we fell for it. How I miss my Mom and how I can’t wait for the fireworks again tonight in her honor.

Yes, that's true. He always wanted people to think he was born on the 4th. That's what his bio movie Yankee Doodle Dandy said. The movie also said his only wife was named Mary, but he really had two wives named Ethel and Agnes.
