Police are investigating the death of a graffiti artist who was found dead next to the third rail in a Brooklyn subway station.

Police say Saturday Jason Wulf was found by MTA workers just after 9 p.m. Wednesday at a station on the R line in the borough's Sunset Park neighborhood.

The New York Post says the 42-year-old Queens man was known by the tag "DG" and had been leaving his mark on subway cars and buildings since the mid-1980s.

An online fundraising site has received $10,000 in donations to pay for funeral costs.

I’ve known a lot of men, usually retired, who get carried away with trimming trees. I heard Mr. T, in real life was accused of this in his neighborhood. Maybe it’s part of a middle-aged crisis, where some guys try to control every single thing within sight, and the wife has long stopped playing that game to their satisfaction.

600 volts @ 10,000 amps on the third rail.

Oops.

I am not familiar with the clothing brand but at 42, this DG character was way past the expiration date for a “defacing public property” stage of life.

Some poor soul had to use a squeegee to clean up DG.

Bummer. Normally the price of your art go up when you croak. When you paint buildings and train cars they are so hard to sell.

42 years old and his identity was as a graffiti artist?

The infantilization of adults has run amuck

"Dead Guy?"

Heh, or "Darwin Guy". He should have been thinking, "What's in a name?", especially one in quotes.

I’ve known any number of elderly men who said, in effect, “I’m going to chainsaw up that entire oak tree this morning.”

Or more likely, shoveling the driveway. Every winter, I hear of older men dropping dead in their driveways on account of shoveling snow. In my younger days, I'd shed down to a T-shirt and knock out my driveway in one session in zero degree wind chill. Eventually, it would take me 2 or 3 sessions in hat, scarf and gloves. These days, I pay somebody to come plow and watch them from the window while I'm sipping my coffee.

Getting old sucks but because I didn't waste my life spray-painting graffiti on subway cars and brick walls, I have the money to pay somebody else to plow my driveway (and mow my lawn).

Don’t I see “DG” on some of my son’s clothes?

That's "DC".

It’s not the voltage that gets you, it’s the amps.

How many amps are there?

Enough to push a train.

Is this the kind of leisure activity Nancy Pelosi waxed about so enthusiastically when talking about the newly unemployed?
