The World’s Second-Richest Man Thinks You Should Work Only 3 Days a Week
Time ^ | 7-19-2014 | Sam Frizell

“With three work days a week, we would have more time to relax; for quality of life,” Slim said. “Having four days [off] would be very important to generate new entertainment activities and other ways of being occupied.”

But there’s a catch: in exchange for working fewer days a week, we should work for more of our lives. Instead of retiring at 50 or 60, workers should work until the age of 70 or 75, the 74-year-old Slim said.

with as much goofing off as I have observed, 3 days a week is about what most people work anyway

3 days a week means you would have to find another job at 3 days a week, leaving you with one day a week to take it easy and have fun?

It would be a good way to live, no doubt.

But it doesn’t look like what the oligarchs have in mind for the pawns.

The Gibsmedat Group frowns upon this guy’s suggestion, feeling that it is three days too much.

He’s right about not retiring at 50.

I agree with you on retirement, it should be delayed. We need people who know the score.

That’s actually not that bad of an idea in some industries

Productivity has increased so much with automation that a worker can produce more goods and services in 3 days then they could in 5 even a few years ago.

Working longer keeps people off of government funded pension programs.

70 years ago a 65 year old was pretty much broken down and ready to retire.

At 65 the Baby Boom generation is out surfing and still has not yet grown up.

You can have idiotic fantasies like this when you are the 2nd richest man in the world living in a corrupt sh**hole like Mexico.

The rest of us get to live hand to mouth under the boot of an overwhelming socialist state.

Who in the Hell retires at 50 or 60?

Also, several industries in my area work 3 12 hour shifts one week and 4 the next. Many Nurses work that type of schedule. Wish I could.

Actually,I did work this long, but not 3 days a week;it was 5. Not at $30/hr. either;it was a lot less. So now it’s time for leisure if it wasn’t for the fact the cost of living hardly allows for even paying attention;let alone anything else.

I remember back in 1963 when our High School teachers said that in the future we would only work 30-35 hours a week so the increase in population could also have jobs, and we would only make about $100,000 in our lifetimes.

But then, that was before abortion, and money was still real silver.

My worthless brother-in-law (If you know him he probably owes you money) has not worked since 1981.
He walked out on his last job saying he wasn’t going to pay taxes to Reagan.

Managed to get on the Public dole and has not worked since.

Precisely, where’s the proof?
Mexico’s booming economy?
Waves of American immigrants rushing the Mexican border in search of the elusive 3 day work week?
What good does 4 days off do when your BROKE and DESTITUTE?
We already have nearly 100 million people in this country working 0-3 days a week..

lol

most americans have ZERO savings, and this clown wants to cut their work week to 3 days!

ROFL!

Why are socialists so blind to reality?

I know... they will say... but we are advocating that they continue to receive the salary they get now, but only have to work 3 days a week to get it.

Um... that means that a business owner will simply have to hire more people to cover the days the original worker is not working and pay them too! which means his labor cost will double!

It’s been nearly 100 years and these morons are STILL trying to make communism work!
