Why do speed limits even exist, other than to serve the Marxist Environmentalist agenda? Where I live, most people go 70 in a 55, and we are better for it; in fact, the people who refuse to speed up past 55 are driving hazards. You occasionally get the liberal teenager who thinks that 110 is an acceptable speed, but conservative drivers are better at determining reasonable speed than government is.

Well at least she has a good sense of humor about it. :-)

Around these parts, everyone speeds all the time.

Except the traffic is ordinarily backed up, and everyone is usually going far, far too slowly.

But when it’s not backed up, we move. I have to remember when I travel not everywhere is like this however.

The cops ordinarily don’t crack down on speeding. They’re more worried about drugs, and gang-bangers.

Oh my, good thing I never got pulled over at “speed”, cause it would have been darn near a triple over the limit.

Man, those were the days. Cheap gas, empty highways and lots of ponies under the hood. And Sammy hadn’t yet written his ode to the double nickel.

I met my (future) husband when I was 18...

I was speeding and he pulled me over. For me it was love at first sight, took him a little longer :)

I’d do it again in a second if I could...

I laughed at Sarah's "explanation". I've said similar things on the many times I've been stopped. Didn't work for me either.

By the way, journalism in this country never fails to disappoint. Check out how they spelled Alaska in the HEADLINE.

I have to give credit to your police. The police around my area are pretty decent as well, but I know lots of areas aren’t so fortunate. I’ve found that the worst police tend to be in rural/exurban blue counties; oddly enough, I’ve never been stopped in a large city.

Is your traffic backed up because of moronic drivers, or because of construction? Where I live, I have to say that idiotic government timing for construction takes most of the blame for the problems we face.

I live in Texas and I teach. Last year I had a girl that had moved here with her family from Wasilla about 5 years ago. The girl’s parents both knew Sarah Palin and spoke highly of her. That girl was the best student that I’ve ever had, and I told her parents so.

Big city. Traffic varies, sometimes it’s horrible, but it’s good off-hours.

I don’t hardly run into cops, which is fortunate. Around here you hardly run into one, but when you do things can get serious quick.

For the most part, I hand it to the officers around here.

“Why didn’t that cop let Alaska’s Favorite Daughter off with a wave & good wishes?”

She would only have to smile at me and I would be an incoherent pool of drool on the ground (as opposed to my normal state of just incoherent) - unable to write or speak - i.e. She would have got off!

“I was speeding and he pulled me over.”

That’s an awesome story.

“LOL, so, it’s national news when Sarah gets a ticket for speeding? “

No kidding. I wonder if Barry has a driver’s license? If so, can you imagine his pose behind the wheel?

I love her responses to situations, they are always apt. The article was not clear, however, on whether those were her responses to TMZ or what she said to the officer. I suspect it was the former and that she was most respectful with the patrolman.
