With such a hot-button topic as illegal immigration and knowing that the vast majority of blacks are against this issue, is the GOP doing anything to reach out to black voters? It would seem like this would be a worthwhile effort.
Or am I wrong on this?
What ... offer the GOP blessing to one group of freeloaders by taunting them with the prospect of being called ‘Conservatives’ (a title neither group comprehends or respects) JUST to spite another group of equally demanding and anti-American freeloaders?

Neither group will ever BE actual Conservatives ... and the GOP has been unsuccessfully pandering to black voters for donkey’s years!
No jobs, fewer freebies, I'm sure the GOP could make an argument that would sway some blacks, but the real problem is the GOP won't because they want illegals here just as bad as the democrats.
We ran out years ago. We just borrow it from China or whoever is fool enough to give it to us. Whatever it takes to keep them placated, because once they NEED that job, things will get violent.
There is nobody smart enough in the GOPe to handle a campaign like that.
Agreed. Black are Conservative on a whole host of issues from religious freedom, gay marriage and school vouchers.
But they won’t vote Republican because they’ve been conditioned for generations to believe that Republicans are racist. And to tune out (if not treat with dismissive contempt) anyone who attempts to tell them otherwise.
They should show them the 340 bills the republicans passed and they all are on Harry Reid’s desk he won’t let them come up for a vote ahh the democrats helping the American people again.
The GOP can’t do anything but make deals with communists.
The GOP talks about big tent by changing their principles to bring in more people. Instead Ronald Reagan believed in getting people to join the republican party based on shared beliefs in conservative values.
Abortion is killing the influence the black community has in society. They can be made to see that liberals have sold them an anti-God bill of goods on abortion. As to gay marriage, blacks are way more conservative and they understand the importance of religion in life unlike most of the rest of the democrat party. That, combined with immigration would make them the natural allies Reagan talked about.
It’s not like conservatives don’t have to deal with part time believers already. Look at the libertarians. They share some conservative beliefs and have other liberal ones. You don’t have to be 100% pure in philosophy but you should at least share the philosophy.
Right now, for whatever reason, the republican party is running from the very values that conservatives and blacks share. They want to bring in illegals which is very bad for the black community and they are trying to go with the flow on gay marriage. As long as they continue on this direction, neither blacks or conservatives will be willing to go with them.
So the GOP position would be 'there's only so much free crap, Illegals are taking the Black man's free crap'?

Maybe they could, but they would just screw it up because they are incompetent.
The GOP is at a perennial disadvantage... because to grasp Conservatism, it is necessary to think and plan beyond the immediate, personal and temporary.
The Liberal voter base has NO inclination for this nor do they have (and have NEVER had) this level of sophistication in their thinking.
Granted, you don’t need to be a genius to grasp the basics of Conservatism, but even grasping the basics is a stretch for most Liberals.
Sadly, that’s probably the argument that needs to be made. It won’t win Blacks over to the GOP, but it might spur them to do the “pox on both your houses” thing and stay home on election day.
Actually, if Conservatives were smart we’d do what the Dems do with settingvup and supporting “Libertarian” candidates: set up “Progressive Party” candidates who would go into the Black community and peel off votes using that argument.

In public speaking you always consider your audience. The gravy train will run out quicker with the invaders sucking it up. The invading illegals are taking everything — jobs, identities, US sovereignty, money, free stuff. Why not tell the truth and win converts?
Yeah. I’m guessing there’s plenty of older Black folks who know what’s going on. It’s the ‘non-cursive-readers’ that are unreachable. Until the flow of hand-outs stop, they will not get it. A warning of ‘it’s running out’ means nothing to a demographic who is only concerned with today.
