The European Union and the United States are imposing the strongest sanctions against Russia since the Cold War in an attempt to prevent further destabilisation of Ukraine. The sanctions will now hit Russian banks and its energy and defence sectors. US president Barak Obama says Russia must pay an economic price for meddling in Ukraine and should brace for an even bigger hit if it continues to support the rebels.

Why are we getting involved with Ukraine when we can’t even manage our own country at home?
What’s good about this is nearly all the key players are in and Putin’s adventures, his nascent empire building, and cruelty are being focused on by the whole world. Only muddle-minded Putinista puppies seem upset.
So that we can continue to have a home, the same reason Reagan could deal with Russia while also dealing with domestic issues.

Reagan dealt with the Russians by BUILDING UP our defensive and offensive capability, and it worked - I hear NOTHING to that effect today, from either party - and people are marching in lock-step supporting this president.
And IRS scandal and VA atrocity.
