Too bad he’s not a capitalist like Putin, he would be a millionaire by now.

Every useful piece of equipment needs a balance between versatility, durability, maintenance and spare parts. But there are twists and turns to these things as well.

For example, versatility is balanced with specialization as far as performance goes. A vehicle like this is fine for off-roading, but if you have to travel long distances, a different vehicle would be better.

Yep, that’s what you usually get with a versatile tool - one that doesn’t do ANY of its functions as well as the tool that it “replaces”.

It’s a balance. There are times when versatility is “the cat’s pajamas”. For example, the Swiss knife.

However, though the Swiss knife often has a Philips screwdriver on it, if you are going to be putting in a lot of screws, a full sized screwdriver, or even an electric screwdriver, is much better.

But if you want a multi-tool, to do a little bit of a lot of things, it’s hard to beat a Swiss knife.

So, the right tool for the right job.

Yep, I have to say, my EDC Swiss knife is very handy.
Scissors, screwdrivers, tweezers, and even a couple of these weird foldout things that I can use to cut with.

The common Swiss knife is silly toy compared to the Wenger 16999 Swiss Army Knife Giant. It's available on Amazon for a mere $1,371.94. And the reviews are nothing short of hilarious. Trust me, it's worth a look.

I have heard that the latest version of the Swiss Army knife has a pull-out flash drive aboard!

The one I’m carrying is over 30 yrs old, so... no flash drive.

Just picked up a 128G for $40 though!
