Boycott Turner Classic Movies Friday
Turner Classic Movies Schedule | 30 July 2014 | Chainmail

Posted on 07/30/2014 6:49:04 AM PDT by Chainmail

Time to boycott Turner Classic Movies all day Friday: they are featuring nothing but Jane Fonda movies all day and including a "Lifetime Achievement Award" segment for her as well. I realize that Jane is Ted Turner's Ex but she is also a traitor to her country who went to our enemy's capitol to broadcast treason on their radio, betrayed her country's fighting men, and returned home to push pro-enemy propaganda. We have never dealt with her as we should have and punished her for her betrayal. Can anyone imagine what would have happened to anyone who had traveled to Nazi Germany during the war, made treasonous broadcasts on Radio Berlin, and then encouraged revolt against our government when he or she returned? Contact TCM and let them know how we feel about this tribute to a traitor.

I was watching the thread the day that pic was created by registered. Kerry and Fonda were both there that day but not at the same podium at the same time. All heck broke loose shortly after.

You, young lady, are in no position to tell me what I need to do. Get over yourself. There are a whole lot of us out here in America, who find "Hanoi Jane" Fonda, her ilk, and her defenders, to be beneath contempt.

We don't 'drool' over her ... we're lined up to water her grave.

And we don't find her the least bit amusing. We don't find treason in general the least bit amusing.

And to be perfectly frank, Missy, we're not all that impressed with actors, or theater people, or their assorted hangers-on.

9 to 5 is good comedy. The series wasn’t that bad either.

You're welcome.

I have nearly said all that I think I need to say on this topic, so I'll probably move on.

You are a big, humorless bore and I am probably much older than you so stop with the dopey “young lady” junk.

And for all of you lining up with a full bladder, try to think it through: she’s gonna be cremated and probably have her ashes thrown in Ted Turner’s face. Or Tom Haydon’s. Or Roger Vadim’s. Or her poor daughter who is already on record about what a lousy mother she was.

I don’t care if it is a commie movie or a Peter Pan movie. I’d rather not have my tooth fillings changing locations because of the noise level. Same goes for music concerts. I still have very good hearing and intend to keep it that way.

“...this obviously COMMUNISTIC cable channel ...”

Haha! That’s stretching it a bit and I do know you’re being facetious there. They’re libs, but not all libs are commies. Some are just dumbass clueless schmucks. I happen to love TCM.... it’s one of the ONLY places left to see really good movies from a time when they MADE really good movies.

A few nights back, there was a show on with Kirk Douglas, doing a one-man retrospective of his life and career. It was pretty good right up to the point where he started whining about Joe McCarthy and “the Blacklist!!!”

He’s 93 years old and still refuses to recognize that there were in fact communists in Hollywood and some of the people he knew were in fact subversives, and Senator Joe McCarthy was proven right.

That doesn’t make Kirk a commie... but it DOES make him a clueless dumbass - and I always thought he was a fine actor (and still do).

But even so... he didn’t plant his ass on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft battery, don a North Vietnamese helmet, and take medical supplies to communist troops. Jane did.

So... I won’t watch Jane. Won’t support anything she does, except finally expire some day, and chalk her up on my list of “People I Want To Outlive”.

(And Grace Kelly was indeed a beauty too, by the way, though not in a “bodacious” way... more in the graceful, elegant sense.)

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Movies are loud? Is that your point? Watch Jaws at home on Blu-ray. It’s an absolutely brilliant movie and it doesn’t star Jane Fonda.

I love TCM and Kirk Douglas as well. He was not only a brilliant, dynamic actor, he was also a brilliant producer. He produced Spartacus! I’m surprised he got on Joe McCarthy’s case because that was not HUAC, that was the Senate. McCarthy had nothing to do with Hollywood - but if he’s now 93, he’s probably dotty. And he did have that bad stroke.

As a suggestion, if you can You Tube, try a British interview with Douglas from the 1980s with Michael Parkinson. Kirk was in great shape for the interview and he tells some very funny stories.

My wife will occasionally watch a movie with Hanoi-Jane in it. She gets mad at me for refusing to stay in the room though. I expound on Fonda’s traitorous activities and get “but that was a long time ago” in response.

So was the holocaust but we all need to remember it.

Here are a few more, for your collection:

Gotta just love that ecstatic expression, there. Tres amusant.

That one is kinda funny ... a white chick making a "Black Power" fist salute!

Does treason bore you, Missy? Do those who object to treason bore you, young lady?
