Cute kitties, all! One even looks a little like my Rocket, similar color pattern.

They’re amazing, especially Maru. Is that a trick table? Surely the huge Maru can’t fit in that tiny box?

Total cute overload!

Neighbor had a cross-eyed Siamese who liked our then dog-less garage because it was dark, and a number of blankets and sleeping bags were stored on the shelf. She was so funny... Viewed our house as a second home.

Thanks, Slings: Love the puss in the boot:)

My AndyMan is very particular. A big fellow, he’s usually found in his castle atop his perch or on/under my bed. He says Meh to couches, chairs and boxes.

Considering that one meaning of Maru in Japanese is ‘circle’, somewhat like fitting a round cat in a square hole…

Technically it means “round”. But just like in english “round” has a connotation for “chubby” or “jolly” in Japanese. “maru” is a traditional name tacked onto ships, usually commercial vessels like freighters and fishing boats. Perhaps to the Japanese, these ships look “chubby” or round.

I’ve seen my cats in almost all of those poses. My orange cat loves any box, bag or tight place to curl up. He’s also my permanent attachment and roots in next to me at night just like the one in your picture.

I figured I'd check my source again ... One usage is listed as the suffix for a ship's name, which is what you're referring to – I'm no expert in the language.
