Black Mirror: Dystopia at it's Finest. (British TV)

I found this 2012/2013 British series while looking for material to quench my thirst for dystopian themed movie and TV shows.

I was quite surprised to find such a contemporary and modernistic show. Like most British TV shows, seasons are called series and they range from 3 to 12 episodes per series and an hour to two per episode.

Black Mirror has had two series runs of 3 episodes each and clock in slightly less than an hour long for each episode.

The shows structure is several vignettes bundled into an anthology. Each episode being entirely unto itself with it's own unique dystopian message.

Fair warning though. Some episodes will make you uncomfortable -- Episode S1E1 in particular. I would recommend you watch that episode last or when you feel like you have a handle on the theme of the show.

I couldn't find it on Amazon, or Hulu, or any legitimate USA repeat TV outlets. I didn't check Itunes or Google play because I just don't do those to services. So if you want to view them you may need to find an alternative source ... like a 'darknet source'. Perhaps it's on BBC proper for those that can stream from there.

Episode: Black Mirror 2x03 The Waldo Moment

Does that ring a bell?

Lemme guess...typical BBC crap...at least one homosexual 'couple' with lots of gratuitous kissing and tonsil exams?

I stopped watching Torchwood ages ago when they pulled that crud. Now it seems like every series they run has that same plot gem. Though how it enhances the plot...I have yet to discern.

If you don’t want to watch it, don’t.

I’m just telling you, it’s dystopian themed and episode 1 series 1 is a bit uncomfortable to me and doesn’t provide a good introduction to the series.

A second post using that word, "uncomfortable". What does that mean? Don't want to say? Can't put it into specific terms? Then don't crab when someone defines it for themselves.

Besides, I never had any intention of watching it.

No. It gives the plot away. It has nothing to do with Gay Sex. It was a very poor introduction to the series.

Watch it or don’t. I don’t need to define uncomfortable to you. End of discussion.

Great show: “Twilight Zone” intelligence and inventiveness but ‘darker’..

Waldo Moment was my favorite episode. Had one of Obama’s campaign catchphrases at the end, The writers probably didn’t intend it as a comment on that vapid media creation but it fit.
