At this point, you really have to wonder: Is it still news when a Republican says something asinine?
On the off chance it is, let us spend a few moments pondering the strange case of Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, who said last week that the Democratic Party is waging a "War on Whites."
Yeah, he actually said that. You can look it up if you want.
Mr. Brooks was responding to radio talk show host Laura Ingraham, who had asked him to comment on a remark from National Journal columnist Ron Fournier to the effect that the GOP cannot continue to be competitive in national elections if it continues to alienate voters of color. This is a truth so self-evident as to have been adopted by the GOP itself in its "autopsy" report after the 2012 election.
Yet here is what Mr. Brooks said in response: "This is a part of the war on whites that is being launched by the Democratic Party. And the way in which they're launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It's a part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things."

Pitts is the poster child of the dumbing down of America. Keep enough people ill-informed, claim victimization and all of a sudden you have Barack Obama in the White House.

of course, politicians on the right shouldn’t take the bait and instead DARE the left to debate on ideals. ideals based on merit, personal responsibility, small govt and low taxation are generally winners
except in a society bred from the start to expect things handed to them with little to no effort. in such a society, merit and personal responsibility are lost.

As a person of color myself I honestly believe there is a war on Whites and by extension, Asians. Why? Those two groups are highly successful careerwise and financially as opposed to Blacks and Hispanics. White liberals see this and they ferment the hate instead of the racial concilliation they claim to want. Ask yourself this question: Has the racial strife gotten worse or better these past five plus years? The Democrats are the ones who are fanning the flames of racial unrest by calling out the GOP as racist boogeymen in order to keep minorities indebted and dependent to Democratic rule. We all know the left can’t win a policy debate. If I can see it I hope there are other people of color who can see through this smokescreen. I know there are some whites who are racist but the vast, vast majority are hardworking people who accept all people of color and judge them on their merit and effort rather than on the color of their skin. I want to be happy and succesful on my own terms and I know that is what all of us as Americans want for each other. I love this country and all of my countrymen of all races, and I’m so sick of that other party trying to get all of us to hate each other.

What is “alienating” about the GOP positions?
Legal immigrants are not happy with being moved “to the back of the bus/line” to advance amnesty for those who broke tons of laws getting here, filing false paperwork, etc.
The black community is not happy about Obama’s pro-homosexual agenda items (same sex marriage, sex education, gay military, gay pride celebrations in government offices, gay olympics, gay ambassadors, gay gay gay).
The GOP positions are NOT anti-Minority. The Left says that the Right must move toward the Left’s position on the issues in order to grow its base among minority voters.
That just doesn’t compute.
And libs are quick to call any black conservative politicians and commentators “uncle toms”, “aunt jemimahs” “race traitors” and “house niggers”. What’s the winning position for the GOP to take?
