Against her parents wishes, Conley planned to marry a Tunisian man, who was fighting in Syria for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an al-Qaida splinter group. She'd met the man online and communicated with him on Skype.

This girl reminds me of Angela Davis, who had what seemed, everything going for her, but the urge to be an activist took precedence over all. Shannon also has a zealot’s inner drive, and her parents could not have done much about it. Too bad she chose that path. Doesn’t look too bad in regular American clothes. Poor Baby, looks to be going bald from the stress of wanting to belong, wanting to dedicate herself to something or somebody.

I’d like to see her in her own prison cell.
...she was traveling to Syria to use her American military training from the U.S. Army Explorers to aid Islamic militants waging jihad....

Had to look up US Army Explorers:
I can’t out do your statement. You hit all the hot spots!
